What To Do With Pouncey?

Send him to the highest bidder. If no offers are made, cut him.
 
It all depends on if Hickey is on board with Philbin's plan to keep the team clean of problem makers. Let's not forget the early report that Philbin wanted Incognito gone after the golf incident. So if Hickey is on board with cutting the fat from the team, so to speak, then there is a chance that Pouncey is gone sooner rather than later.
 
Get rid of our best olineman because he is not a Philbin type guy? Pathetic....The guy is lucky to still be here, now we have to get choir boys because he can't control a lockerroom.

If we tried to get rid of Pouncey, we'd get robbed worse than the BM trade. Our huge need for olineman that can actually play would make this a terrible start for our GM, filling shoes he shouldn't have to.

Sorry, Joe better get with the program that he actually has to lead, and deal with personalities. Not get rid of anyone that may have a problem off the field.

I'm saying that he has made some bad choices but, that I would like to keep him. I'm saying that I do not believe that Ross and Philbin will want to do the same.

The guys that were traded due to personality were Marshall who publicly at the probowl bashed the team and said if he had a good team he could put probowl number up every games. and Davis who was trying to be the center of attention when hard knocks arrived. Pouncey had the one public slip up with his brother. Other than that he has handled himself great with the media. This was a locker room issue that should have stayed in the locker room.

The quick reaction from me to this fresh report is to trade him and get rid of all of the "problems" from the supposed harassment.

However, really thinking it through it is probably best to keep him. He is young, one of the best offensive lineman in the game and players have done far worse in this league and kept their jobs. Fine him, suspend him a game or two and put down no tolerance rules with him that this sort of behavior will never happen again.

Then again, if you can get a 1st round pick for him, you probably trade him.

You cant get a 1st round pick for Pouncey. Even if all of this stuff hadnt come out. Even without the Free Hernandez hat, the drug parties, and the Wells Report, no one wouldve given us a 1st rounder for Pouncey. This is why I said we shouldve traded him for a 2nd rounder long ago.

Heck, I saw a post a couple of weeks ago suggesting we could get a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounder for Pouncey...... LMFAO. A decent QB wouldnt get that much in return.

A lot of people over value our players on FH.

If you want to get a read on Pouncey's value, just look at comparisons....................

Last year, a Pro Bowl LT going into the last season of his contract was on the market. Brandon Albert was almost traded to the Phins. KC started by asking for a 1st. The Phins balked. KC was then willing to take a 2nd rounder and the Phins almost bit, but instead were only willing to give a 3rd round pick for him.

Pouncey is a pro bowl C. Very comparable in ranking at his position to Albert. LT is more important than C however. Like Albert last season, Pouncey is entering the final year of his contract and will want a big contract after next season. Putting his value based on this as a 2nd rounder is more than fair. In fact, when you consider the Free Hernandez hat, drug parties, and Wells Report, I would suggest we would be lucky to get a 3rd in return for Pouncey. In fact, if someone offered a 3rd, I would take it and run. You can draft a starting C for a 3rd rounder, preferably one who isnt a complete moron and into hard drugs like Pouncey. Also, there are a couple of good Cs available in FA.

BM did not publicly bash the team, he said we needed a better QB which everyone else believed too. He was traded for a club incident that wound up being nothing.
 
I have no problem with Pouncey being on this team long term.
 
We only have one good ineman and that is Pouncey. Would be foolish to trade him unless our hand is forced. If we already had a solid line then I would have no problem trading him. It's already gonna be hard enough to put together a decent line this year even with Pouncey. Without him there is no chance.
 
Simple: give him a contract extention

I would not be shocked if we were able to get a 1st for Pouncey. Would not take anything less than a second.......and again, please take down the Tannehill picture

I think it's pretty naive to think the drug tests really catch that many guys...there's plenty of ways around them. You're telling me there's only about 4 or 5 guys a year who are taking drugs in the NFL? LOL, I'd say at least a quarter of the league does drugs. Richie's texts point clearly to Pouncey's as a spot to do drugs. Personally I'm keeping Pouncey another year and then letting him test the market, because if we want a high character team he's not a fit.
 
Fire coach Turner for a total failure to create a working team. The offensive line has to be a close knit group, and I cannot imagine a worse situation from a teamwork perspective. Martin, Cog, and Jerry are shown the door as quickly as possible. Keep Pouncey, but make it clear he cannot be a leader until he builds up a group instead of breaks it down. If he does not progress within a couple of year toward this position, then say goodbye. Bring in high character OL players as the absolute priority!! Try to build functional teamwork on the offensive line.
