What was Wright thinking?

This kid Wright is not that bright....failing out of USC basically. But everything is clearly explained, attire for each practice, lunch, meetings, getting taped. Comes into camp out of shape? Veterans surely will tell this kid to get his head out of his *** or he'll be gone.

he's 21 and crying, he failed out of college, he doesn't have much going for him, he's been acused of being a slacker. He better pull his cr@p togetyher if he wants to pplay for us.

Be assured that every single football player that goes up agianst him will bring this morsel of taunting with him !!!!

I go with a veteran pulling a prank on him.

I think that might be right...but then again he would have seen the team and turned back into the locker room to get his pads on? I think he is a little slow?:shout: :stooges:

I am sure there is an explanation for his appearance

He went back to the locker room with the trainer. I am sure there is more to the story, and I am sure the story will get twisted in many directions on this board.

My guess is, this is a case of a super talented player whose coach never got tough with him at the college level. His coach was Pete Carroll after all, and we know the only thing he is good for is giving the choke sign.

I heard OJ talking about this very thing this morning. OJ believes that Manuel has never really been disciplined before.

I'm not trying to bury the kid, I feel bad for him actually, I can imagine how it felt to get reemed out in front of the whole team. I've had some pretty tough coaches and they've made me feel pretty stupid plenty of times. Now that I think about it, maybe he was trying to make up for his mistake. From my experience putting all the pads on is not a quick thing. So maybe he made the awful mistake of coming out without them and instead of being 10 minutes late for practice he decided to stay in the wrong uniform but be on time.

Saban wasn't only sending a message to Wright...he was firmly putting a foot up the team's behind too. This is probably why he came so hard on Wright and stopped practice to do it. He wanted to send a clear message to everyone.

I'm sure afterward he had a discussion with Wright to let him know that everyone makes mistakes, but what is important is not make the same one 2x.

Maybe he was told that since he had the red jersey he didn't need any. I mean he had to have noticed everyone else with their pads on.

no question...he got 'punked'! instead of getting taped to the goalpost...he got the 'red shirt/no pads' dis-information. and after 15 min of nfl coach reamin, you'all would be cryin too!!

He must not be too bright if he showed up to SABAN'S camp in shorts and without pads
