What's the worst referee gaffe in Miami Dolphins history?

Do all you older Dolfans remember the 1994 AFC Divisional playoff game at San Diego?? When NATRONE MEANS fumbled at the Dolphins 3 yard line and the ball hit the pylon. The Dolphins got the ball but it should have been spotted at the 20. The refs spotted it at the 1 yard line and the next play, BERNIE PARMALEE was tackled behind the line of scrimmage for a safety!! This was the momentum changer in that game and the Dolphins went on to blow a 22-6 lead in that game which would have set the to the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP to play a very beatable Pittsburgh team.
I have never cried so hard after a game.

Definitely the fumble that wasn't called in the 1994 playoff game against San Diego. Clearly changed the game around for the Chargers. I have the game on VHS and I still make people watch it now. Man I still haven't gotten over that one.

That Ginn/Sharper one and Steelers fumble are both so bad. Really pisses me off still

Wasn't that the Super Bowl where Steve Young got the monkey off his back by the 49ers smackin' the crap out of the Chargers??? Hell I already saw Marino get thumped my the Montana led 49ers....don't think I would have been enjoying "round two".

The thing that is worse about the Steelers game is the fact that they had the ability to review it and STILL blew the call. The 1994 game sucked, but there was no replay, so I think the Pitt call was worse.

With the current referee lockout, and the looming possibility that we'll see replacement refs this preseason, it got me thinking what was the biggest error made by the officials in Dolphins history. My question to you is can anything beat the video below?

Also, will you be worried if the referee holdout goes into the regular season?

F@#$!!! That s%$^ happened RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE. It was my first game in down in Miami and Gene Steradousche sent me into a rage on my way back to the parking lot. I have never been so furious in my life.

The Steelers fumble and the Ginn-Saints fumble both made me so angry.  We would have probably won both of those games had the calls been correctly made.

Not to mention that perhaps Ginn and Clemons would both be regarded in a slightly more favorable light having made those two huge plays.

The Steelers call really hits home with me, It was my first pro football game and I was there with my step father and brother in law who are both HUGE Steelers fans. Not only that, i was sitting on the visitor side and was surrounded by Steelers fans. They were all arguing with me about it being a fumble at first until the showed about 50 replays. At that point i had most of them agreeing with the fumble. THEN, this a@@h)** ref says he can't tell who recovered the ball when it was obvious that we did. I couldn't get any of the Steelers fans around me to agree that it was a bull**** call. I can't believe that the ref wasn't heavily punished or fired for such a horrific call. I had to hear about the Steelers victory all the way out of the stadium and on the 12 hour drive back to MS. To this day i hate that ref and i hate Steelers fans......I can't believe they were actually gloating about the win.

Yeah what made it worse was with 35 seconds left in the game. Marino drove them to field goal range, and Stoyo, who was very accurate from 40+ shanked it on a high snap plus there was no instant replay in 1994. I was 23 years old and I cried my eyes out that day!!!!!!

The pass interference on Jamal fletcher against the pats. That one bad call cost us the game and making the playoffs that year. What a waste of one of the best rushing seasons ever.

I was at this game. It's sometimes tough to appreciate how bad a call is when you're there live as opposed to watching on TV, but I can remember knowing how bad this call was right after it happened, even from the stands after a dozen beers. The D-bag Pats fans near me all agreed it was a bad call, too.

I was at this game, too. But I don't remember this call specifically....probably because I went insane with rage for days after that game and purged much of it from my memory.

This was the one I was going to bring up. Nice job.

Also in that game, on a play Means scored on, he clearly steps out around the 2 yard line. Not nearly as big of a play as the one that lead to the safety though. That safety was a HUGE factor in that game. Had we been awarded the ball at the 20, even a 3 and out from that spot completely changes things. Safety was the worst thing that couldve happened given the game situation. We wouldve been better off giving them a TD on the possession before than getting the ball there and taking a safety.

Please. First of all youre comparing a regular season game vs. a playoff game. GET REAL!

Secondly, we blew that season and its not as if that loss to the steelers even mattered. We werent going anywhere. The San Diego win wouldve resulted in a trip to the AFC title game and left Marino just 2 wins from a championship.

Third, I dont care what anyone says, we lose that steelers game even if they get the call correct. We get the ball at the 20, go 3 and out, steelers get the ball with less than 2 minutes remaining, win the game. Period.

And finally, I had tickets the playoffs in Pittsburgh the year we lost that Chargers game. I went the day before that phins/chargers game to Pittsburgh and watched the Steelers beat the Browns. Had the phins won, Im at the stadium watching Marino try and beat his hometown team and go to the SB.

Ugh, I was at this game with my then (now ex) girlfriend (and Steelers fan). The crowd was shell shocked, I've never heard a more B.S. confusing explanation of a call. In a nutshell the Ref said: "Meh, he fumbled but we weren't paying attention so give the Steelers a do -over" WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?????
