Who Does Ronnie Compare Too?

Say what you want I just think the guy is going to be a bust. The guy was successful in college b/c he ran over people and he wont be able to do that in the NFL, just ask Ron Dayne. He may run a fast 40 but he doesnt have football speed, he was never known at Auburn to be a breakaway runner. Not only that but this guy was considered a second round pick till he ran that 40 at the combine. All that says to me is that he is the Mike Mamula of RB's untill he proves otherwise. Maybe I'm wrong I thought Lee Evans wasn't a very good pick and he turned out to be the second best WR in the draft stat wise w/ a loaded group.

That is absolutely untrue. Say what you will about Ronnie being a potential bust, but at no time was he EVER considered a second round pick. Months before anyone was timed at the combine there were countless draft profiles that suggested he could be a better pro prospect than Carnell Williams.

How am I homer? I didn't say anything about the Bills or how he compares or that Willis is better. Your claim is completely baseless

Leave it to a fin fan who cant read

Who had more carries? Carnell
Who has more Yards? Carnell
Who has more TD's? Carnell
Who was the focal point of the running game? Carnell
Why didnt Brown see the bigger load of carries? Carnell
Who wore down the defense so Brown could come in and face a tired D? Carnell

ignorance is bliss, huh? I'd follow the NFL draft before making ridiculous statements like this.

I saw Auburn play a few times last year, and I confess that I didn't know who Ronnie was the first time I saw him, but I tell you what, when I saw I knew he was made for the NFL.

With his potential, Ronnie Brown could end up being LT2, but we'll have to wait and see.

Not unexpected from a Bills fan:shakeno:. Maybe you don't follow football that much, but year after year college players are compared to NFL players based on their style. Ronnie Brown has been compared to LT, Mcalister, Jackson, and other talented backs by experts. That is how it works. He should not be compared to Williams because he is a totally different back. According to you Willis McGahee should only be compared to Frank Gore because he couldn't beat him out in college. It took an injury for him to get time. People who get payed good money to scout players seem to think Brown is a better NFL prospect than Williams. I know you don't get payed to scout or you wouldn't be trolling around on our board. And you also wouldnt make rediculous claims like he compares most favorably to Antwain Smith and Means. Because of his versatility and straight line running style he compares favorably to LT. Yes, LT had a nice career against mid level competition. If Brown played at TCU he would probably have put up similar numbers. But instead he put up very good numbers while splitting time with another back in the toughest conference in college football. So you can go on believing that Brown is not going to be anything special, but after he runs all over your Jills I think reality will set in.

Its amazing you can write a paragraph that big and not say a single thing of football value. Those "scouts" your talking about had as a second round pick till he ran the 40.

The only reality that will be setting in is for Brown when he only gets 20 yards against the Bills and is out of the game when Takeo gives him a welcome to the NFL shot

Your comments demonstrate that you know very little of Auburn. Both players were good and had a different set of skills. Their coach at Auburn tried to utilize BOTH of them. There was no clear starter. I would also remind you that Steve Spurrier underused Fred Taylor also. He became a 1st rd pick based on his combine performance.
Ronnie Brown isn't anything close to Antowain Smith (wishful thinking on your part). Antowain Smith lacks RB's fluidity and pass catching skills.
Natron Means runs a 4.4 40 only in his dreams.

Anyone who watched Smith in college would see the similarties

There was a clear starter and it was Carnell, every Auburn game I watched he got most the carries

Fred Taylors lack of use was based on the offense not his talent

He does'nt have L.T.'s natural vision or moves. Tomlinson is the best runner in football...and actually quite different then Ronnie.

I think Brown compares to Duece McCallister accept McCallister runs more upright.

On another note....is it just me or are certain Bill fans getting a little snarly lately. I like input from fans of other teams as much as anyone but Bill fans seem to be the biggest damn homers out there (accept Clumpy).

They all act like their team is God's gift to football....got news for YOU Bill homers....your team missed the playoffs last year...and the year before that. In fact, your team has'nt made the playoffs in 5 years. Your team has also not won a playoff game in a decade.

Bill's fans talk more crap then every Patriot fan on this board...try earning it before you talk it.

Heres a little slice of reality, of the four teams in our division this is by far and away the biggest homer site of them all. I have never seen a more lopsided view of teams players than what I read here. The Jets and Pats sites are a little more down to earth w/ regard to the players. I come here and you guys are talking about when Brown is going tobreak the rushing record.

By the way most of you dont even understand what the word Homer means. Just b/c I have a diffrent view about one of your players doesn't mean i'm a homer. In this case I think R.Brown is going to be a bust but on another subject I think J.Taylor is one of the top 3DE in the NFL. Understand the word before you start using it

lol sorry but its true, the only reason he jumped ahead of Benson and Williams was b/c of that 40

I think the Duece comparisions are way off. Mccallister in one of the slowest backs in the league. He always gets caught from behind, IMO a bad comparision. Ahman seems good also a bigger faster Curtis Martin.

Right now he compares to a guy who could never beat out Carnell Williams in college for the starting job and will most likely report to camp late.

Comparing him to the likes of L.Tomlinson is not just. There not even close, Tomlinson domanated college football on a very below avg team and is now the best RB in the NFL by far, its not even close.

I would compare his running style to that of Natron Means or Antwain Smith

And willis mcgahhee compares to emmitt smith right????

Means was fat and slow and atwain is not much of an athlete just a smart player, good try though bill homer.

I love how you guys try to put words in my mouth, I haven't said word one about Willis in this whole thread

lol Bill Homer? I find it funny how a good portion of you gravely misuse the word Homer.

I stand by my Means and Smith comparison

Man, from the sounds of the replies in this thread, Ronnie Brown is a superman-hybrid back made up of all the tops parts of all the top RB's in the game today...... :rofl3:
