Who Does Ronnie Compare Too?

Right, because he isn't a carbon copy of any of those. He has the versatility and straight line running ability of LT and Deuce, and has the size/speed combo of a Bo Jackson. There isn't a running back that is an exact comparison, so no he doesnt have the vision of LT, but he is someone who he can be compared to.

Bo Jackson was ten times of a more physically imposing back........

Yes we need to stay away from the Bo Jackson comments there was only one Bo.

Bo Jackson was the sickest running back to ever play the game. He was simply unstoppable, a true freak of nature.

"Its amazing you can write a paragraph that big and not say a single thing of football value. Those "scouts" your talking about had as a second round pick till he ran the 40."

Simply untrue. Ron Brown has been considered a solid 1st Round pick since very early on in the '04 NCAA season. Once he demonstrated some of the softest hands in the entire draft, plus a ridiculous 40 time for a man of his size at the combine, this vaulted him to the top of a deep RB class, but he was never going in the 2nd round.

Opinions are fine, but the logic behind your stance is completely flawed. They didn't run Carnell, and then insert Ronnie "when the defense was tired" late in games. They split carries throughout games, all season. He logged carries in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Quarters nearly every game. He was also more effective against stout defenses like Va. Tech and LSU when he was doing the running.

At 230 pounds, he's a rare package. Strength, blocking ability, soft hands and speed combined with that mass doesn't happen too often.

To make a comparison with A. Smith indicates either you've rarely seen him play and aren't much of a fan of the college game, or you don't understand the game of football in general.

But keep expecting to see Antwoin Smith lining up in Aqua over the next decade, and make sure to show up so we can recall this "debate" when the time comes.

As i see it Ronnie Brown is somehow similar to Scottie Pippen.
Yeah he's so different of any RB you may use to compare.
This guy is going to change the face of the team, because he'll increase Ricky Williams' chances in two directions, first he'll handle some load of the running offense and in order to make the team, Williams will be forced to recover his level.
This way Brown'll become an incredible weapon that may run / block / catch and will help our offense to improve.

Wrong sport buddy lol, this is football chat yet I get your point.

This thread is about which RB does he remind you of? Scottie Pippen is not a running back lol!

Let me clear some things up here

-I doubt any of you watched Antwoin Smith in college but I did along w/ watching Ronnie Brown(almost every game). Smith was a "straight line" runner in college and coming out he had ridicules speed for a guy his size ala Brown. But some of you would rather compare him to Tomlinson and Duece and Brown does not neary have there agility or game breaking ability

- All I did was give my opinion of who I thought he compared too(I admit the coming to camp late and never beating out Williams was a little bit of a stab) then all of you jumped down my throat b/c I didn't agree that this guys style is like Tomlinsons, sorry but its not

-The Dayne thing was an example not a comparison

If you watched Ronnie Brown "almost every game", you'd know that he didn't just come in during garbage time late in games. You'd also know that he looks nothing like A. Smith, and was a much more sought after prospect upon graduating.

The ignorance has been exposed. Time to move on.

When did I ever say he came in during garabage time?

Again putting words in my mouth, making your post look pretty ignorant

Smith was a late first round pick and prolly would have been higher if he went to a bigger school

"Who wore down the defense so Brown could come in and face a tired D? Carnell"

Few easy questions:

Does that statement not imply garbage time?

How many Auburn games did you watch? Which ones?

Were you on crack and blindfolded while viewing?

Ron Brown carried and caught the ball all during games, and there were plenty of occasions where they were both on the field together.

I've heard and read various sources that say he is very close in comparison to Franco Harris.

Who got the bulk of the carries ?? Carnell
Who started each drive? Carnell

What does this say? It says that since Carnell got at least the first 3-5 carries on each drive, it wore down the defense

Again there is no referance to garbage time!

I saw enough of him to know hes not the next LT or Duece

I love how all of you are Auburn experts now lolol Give me a break:shakeno:

All right I'm pretty much done arguing this were just going to have agree to disagree on what kind of back Brown is going to turn out to be. Well let the season be the judge. I will leave you w/ one question though

It doesnt bother any of you that when Carnell got injured and Brown was the full time back for 6 games that he didn't prove enough to unseat Carnell as the back who should get the bulk of the carries?
