Who forgives ricky for what he did?

I will never forgive RW for what he did! If he can help this team and relieve Ronnie Brown I'm all for it! I wasted money on 2 authentic jerseys for that "chumpzilla"! He cost us last year but on the good side, we got rid of wanny and brought in Saban. After all the issues he had with the Saints Miami should have known better. Some things just never change, I just hope he doesn't purchase a wizzanator!

My my you forgive quickly............and after having not even heard 1 peep from Ricky about being sorry for some of the things he did irresponsibly..... He still thinks he's innocent to this day.......that's why I don't forgive.

We all make mistakes, but how many chances does Ricky get? He made the choice to smoke it up, rather the take the medication that was prescribed to help him with his condition.

Less we not forget he was caught three times by the NFL's drug testing program............common sense tells you he had time to wisen up after the first and second. Of course, he chose not to.

The thing that gets me hot, is I bust my butt at work, and I was to come up positive lets say after an accident at work, I would be toast. No questions asked. I make a decision not to do drugs, and to stay gainfully employed.

Something perhaps overlooked or not given enough consideration in these discussions (in my opinion) is that pro sports appears to have become first and foremost, simply a business to the athelets who are fortunate enough to be participants, with very few exceptions. People change teams every year. Leaving one team for another in order to make more money is rarely seen as quitting on your mates. Ricky made a choice to change teams, after a fashion. Do I think it a good choice? Certainly not. Was I disappointed in him? Absloutely. Was the timing horrendous? Couldn't have been much worse.

As far as drawing a parallel between the camraderie and mutual respect involved in a military unit and a football team, I cannot buy it. We in the military were/are willing to sacrifice anything for our country and each other. It certainly isn't about the money! I think the vast majority of these guys have a much more compelling relationship with their agents than with their current teamates.

I, DolFan31, forgive Ricky Williams on the following basis:

1.Playing under Wanny's system made him the focus of the offense, thus taking beatign after beating with each carry into the middle, with a horrible offensive line. He decided to smoke pot to ease the pain.
2. I believe it was Ricky who pressured Huzeinga to make changed within the team. Instead, he made Marino whatevertheheckhewassupposedtobe, and moved Speilman into GM, while keeping Wanny as HC. Wow he thought. Then very few changes with a crappy offensive line, ?'s at QB, and stupid, predictable game plan on both O and D.
3. He called Wannestedt to see what he could do. He wasnt sure Iif he could play under Wanny's system. What did he hear? "If you were my son, Id tell you to play football". That right there led him to think Wanny was just using him, as a slave. And Wanny was the slave driver. This is a guy who listens to Bob Marley. OF course he would think of this. Wouldnt you even if you didnt listen to Marley?
4. We all quit jobs we dont feel satisfied with. Why should he be any different? Its not the armed services, its not the Olympics, its a job. Its a sport. And nothing more.
5. I just want to win!

Smoke weed to ease the pain? Sorry chief.......he told the media he did it because he no longer wanted to take his Paxil........

So he quit his job that he felt dissatisfied with and now suddenly he's satisfied with it..........ironically with an 8.6 million dollar debt and $340,000 trust fun hanging in the balance for his illegitimate child.

You are probably true in the last part of your post. I was always taught whther it was my brothers or a friend, you always have there back. To this day, I am still that way. Ricky could have handled this so much better rather then running and hiding in a tent. He could of spoke up, did this right after the season was over in a meeting with Rick, and Wayne, sought more medical help, and most of all been a man admit his faults, and mistakes, and tried to better himself and his condition.

Here's hoping that Ricky has indeed realized the error of his ways and intends to make amends. I'll lift a glass to that!!!

The question is who forgives ricky for what he did i for one if and when he does comes back i will support it but i will never ever buy another ricky thing again.maybe it's just me but i have mixed feelings one part wants to forgive him the other half wants to say screw him i guess he will have to regain that trust and respect back with his teamates first and then with the fans.myself i will cheer for anybody in a fins uniform hands down but i don't know maybe im just confused.
As much as I am so tired of Ricky threads, I think this one was a good one for many of us to vent. Now I see we have a poll question now! Yeah!

Is that too much to ask, as fans, that we actually get an apology? Something to let us know he realizes at least some of the errors in his ways?
