Who forgives ricky for what he did?

so he likes to smoke weed? so what?....to each his own

gonna tell me that no one here has ever quit there job?

yep, to each his own. But he knowingly smoked weed in violation of the rules of his employment. And, at least for now its against the law. You may not agree with the law. You may even have a legitimate argument that the law is wrong. But until the representatives that the American people elected agree with you, it IS still the law.
To say that Ricky did nothing wrong is absurd.

Bottom line: What is more important, winning with Ricky playing or the satisfaction that Ricky wont play?

Of course I would be dissapointed. But im sure the league would have required a lesser offense to him since he has no criminal record. Im sure he would not have been required to miss an entire season, especially a star player like Ricky. Lets forget your hatred for Ricky for a moment, and think about why Ricky left, I think he would quit had it been made public knowledge he smoked. I think the situation with Wanny is what drove him out.

No offense, but you need to wisen up. Him having no criminal record has nothing to do with testing positive for drugs under the NFL's drug testing policy in the collective bargaining agreement. You're making all these assumptions that the NFL would go easy on the guy and you have no factual basis at all.

I don't hate him. I just have zero respect for him. All your "I think's" don't hold any weight in this conversation. Fact is he was going to miss 2004 anyway because he couldn't man up and not smoke weed for the sake of the team.

Again, you assume we're going to win with Ricky.......... nobody knows yet. I'd personally feel our franchise would have 20 times more integrity if they didn't accept the man back.

Would any of you forgive Warfield, Csonka and Kiick if they left for the WFL if this were 1974?

They left because of the money!! They instantly became the three highest paid football players for that era. Joe Robbie said he would not be the first owner to pay a player a million dollars.

It was known about at the end of the prior season, not a week before training camp.

And I personally feel we have 20 times more of a chance of winning a SB with Ricky.

...........and that's why you have no integrity.............anything to win is your motto...........

I see what you are saying, however a lot of us on this board are veterans of the armed forces, and also others who have great pride, that you never, ever quit on your teammates, or a fellow service members. It's something that is instilled in us at a very young age that ranks really high in dignity, and self repect, and respect for others.

True - but we haven't been diagnosed with a medical condition that predisposes him to this type of reaction when social pressure gets to great. Am I the only one here who remembers that?

The mother scapegoat of them all............

and I believe it is Saban's as well. And I share that philosophy.

If he showed remorse for what he did I would be happy to forgive him. I find myself changing my mind about Ricky more than Ricky does himself about football. I could understand some anxiety disorder; I have some myself and mabey he just acted to the extreem. However unless he publicly apologizes to the Dolphins, the city of Miami and the fans all I can do if forget, never forgive

I hated them for it. My Pa would say they were getting more money to play there. They gave up playing with/against the best in the world all for money? To play with/against second rate ballplayers? I could never get my head around that one at the time.

 They ruined my childhood...

...........and?

And what? Thats why he needs to come back, anything to win. He might not be the difference maker, but he might be. Id give him a shot. Id rather know than wish I knew. In other words, I dont want to think about what couldve been.
