There are many posters here that want, or are OK with bringing Adam's family back.

I don't understand why any hard core fan would be in favor of continuing down this path.

So I ask those who remain in the Gase camp, what is your reasoning or thought process. Perhaps I'm missing something.

He is .500. Cutler, and Oz have both historically been that without Gase.

I will concede that he jettisoned the malcontent quitter types.

As to not needing "another of these threads", feel free to pass on any thread you don't want to participate in.

I'm ok with the "Adam's" family as long as they bring uncle Fester with them.....lol
 
Good teams have time and money invested in people for the long haul. Look at all the best teams in the NFL and tell me which ones change coaches every three, four years?
I understand the frustration. But I know you do not build a good team changing coaches and other team people every few years.
It is the bottom feeders that change for sake of changing.
I am more than willing to give Gase more time and hope we can stay healthy.

I think its time to see if we can win with the people we have. Who's ready for another three year building project? Or a complete overhaul of staff and players?
 
He's average. Every year for Gase has a story .2016 showed that he had what it took down the stretch to make a playoff game (And Jay Train was here).
2017, the hurricane, no Tannehill and the Cutler experiment. He gets a pass.
2018, starts off bangin', then the injuries start and keep the team from full potential. He likely gets a pass this year too.
My point is that Ross sees what Gase can do with Tannehill and an injury free team, and that's playoffs in '16 and the first 3 games this year. Ross is probably hoping next year will be a full season of Tannehill and a healthy team.
Problem is you can never tell when the injury bug will bite. One way to combat that is a deep set of good back ups.
 
Would you let Tannenbaum pick his successor? The one thing that will absolutely make me flip my lid is if we fire Gase and keep Tannenbum.

I totally agree that consistency is the cornerstone for long term success in any organization. Consistency, in and of itself doesn't guarantee success though.

Believe me, the thought of starting over gives me that Philbin queasy feeling. I hate it, but I honestly don't think Gase is up to the task.

Not only is he clueless about the defensive side of the ball, what's worse is he is disinterested in it.

His play calling is baffling at times to say the least. I used to think he would learn as he went, but now I'm not even confident in that.

To your point about who could we get that would be better? There are no guarantees with anyone, but I really don't see Gase as getting the job done.

If it were up to me, absolutely not. He's the architect that has an inexperienced, incompetent DC under a HC that has zero interest in defense.

I won't even get started on the first round drafting.

The problem is when you say "complete overhaul", we've never really have one. All we've done since he's been here is try to plug holes here and there. I could understand if he had gotten rid of a lot of the older players for picks and then use those picks correctly then yes, give those younger guys time to develop under him. But instead he's been trying to win with Tannehill and Jones and Wake......some people hate Gruden but at least he's moved players for high picks and those high picks if used the right way can be a part of a winning team in a couple of years. We have over paid players everywhere and no extra picks to build with.
 
The question isn't whether or not anyone wants him back. The question is - who do you replace him with?

There have been at least 3 threads that I know of that have asked the "who" question, not not one of them has produced an semblance of a reasonable answer.

And releasing Gase for the hope of getting Harbaugh is foolishly risky.

Excellent post.

Gase has had plenty of bad breaks. No doubt about it. I don't think that gets him a pass on the things he hasn't done though.
