Why cant we sell out?

Yes the games sell out usually at the last minute, but it would be nice to pack the stands with serious fans. If the game is seemingly out of reach in score many fans leave the stadium in the early fourth QTR.

Aside from big games, I think this is a serious short coming for the team not to have dominating fans that stay for the whole game.

I would say that home field advantage is not as loud as it could be in Miami.

There were lots of games last year that had tons of empty seats in the 4th QTR.

Take a look at attendance records, and you will find that almost every single team that stinks have poor attendance. Their paid attendance might be good but when you stink who wants to go and watch? Not many, and that's a fact.

Well Miami pretty much fit that bill last year, and still sold 580,000 tickets. That's only about 7,000 less than the year before where every game sold out.

I'm Canadian and i live 2 hours from Toronto. Is the Rogers Centre big enough capacity wise to have an NFL team in Toronto?

God I still can't call it that. Skydome is what it is to me. Temporarily yes. In the height of the Blue Jays winning streaks I believe they were able to pack upwards of 80,000 fans into that stadium. There's also plenty of shoreline space to build yet another stadium down there and they'd probably get the backing easily for that.

Those92/93 BlueJays! Great times. Their are small murmers in billsland, when the owner dies, his daughter is going to sell the team. Theirs a little worry she might sell them to investors in Toronto if Tagliablue would allow it? Hopefully she sells the team to investors in Buffalo.

Because since the Dolphins moved out of the Orange Bowl the same passion has never existed at the new stadium..in the old days, the orange bowl was the first place to cause penalties due to the crowds being so LOUD!!! now, the seats are too far from the feild AND THE FANBASE HAS BECOME MORE APATHETIC...thats what 30something years without a super bowl will do..

Also, In places like buffalo, green bay etc, there is really nothing else to do, Miami is not one of those cold weather cities with no nightlife or anything else to do

BC you guys arent like die hard Bills fans who have already sold out almost all their home games already. Nor rain, snow, sleet or hail we fill our football palace....you guys leave if there is a tropical mist so you can go drink your Margaretas down on 12th street.....

There is a lot of passion coming back. The old timers, who always run to the ushers complaining about people standing and yelling, are now too old to even go. So the younger crowd is slowly creeping in, and a huge amount of latins are becoming fans as well. All this team has to do is start winning with some passion and some passion will follow up in the stands. They are finally starting to look into moving the seats foward, which would be a huge difference in noise. WH looked into it about 5 years ago and said it was too much money to do it, but apparently someone woke him up on the idea. Hopefully it works out.

As for teams like the Bills. Take a look at their history, and you will find that when they have sucked in the past, their attendance was terrible. In 2001 they averaged 61,767 seats a game, and in 2002 it was 67,000. That's paid attendance, so it surely was worse than that. It goes with their history. When they were going to 4 straight SB's they had awesome numbers, but when losing those numbers dropped to even as low as 37,893.........

It's not just them, it's the teams like GB, and Washington, and a couple of others that are the exceptions.

Yup, and if the Billy Boys were expected to stink again, they would not sell out.

You guys are not as "die hard" as you think. Take a look back to the early 80's and get back to me on it OK? Don't say that was the past because in the early 2000's it was not as bad as back then but it was way down.

BTW do you know how many sellouts in a row Billy has? I know that up until last year Miami had them doubled for consecutive sellouts.

Now go back to your corner

All i see when watching Dolphin games is those fruity colored lookin seats either filled with old people or completely empty....face it Miami has the worse fan base in the NFL, and everyone knows its true. Its not just the Dolphins, look at the U of miami who has a top 5 football team year in and year out, yet dont always fill their stadium.:shakeno: Miami is just not a sports town. The Dolphins should move to Los Angeles so real football fans can appreciate their team....

(Im just messin with you guys, dont take anything I say personal)

Not selling out for opening day is terrible. 'Fin fans rank very low on the fandom totem pole.

BURNED! No but seriously, I really want this game to be televised...I am going to the game, but I want everyone not fortunate enough to be able to witness a great win against the Broncos!

This conversation should never have to occur. Even terrible professional teams usually sell out their first game. I worked for the Colorado Rockies for a while and even they sold out their first home game. They were/are painful to watch but still sold out.

It will be a shame if the Fins can't sell out the home opener!

You'll be ok even if there is a blackout. That only pertains to those in the local area (S. Fla.).
