Why cant we sell out?

Finland said:
Yes the games sell out usually at the last minute, but it would be nice to pack the stands with serious fans. If the game is seemingly out of reach in score many fans leave the stadium in the early fourth QTR.

Aside from big games, I think this is a serious short coming for the team not to have dominating fans that stay for the whole game.

I would say that home field advantage is not as loud as it could be in Miami.

There were lots of games last year that had tons of empty seats in the 4th QTR.

I went to a game two years ago, and got great seats.. Like 3 rows back on the 40 yard line. Problem was, it would be like third down, and I would be standing up chearing, and the people behind me would be telling me to sit down. Later in the game with only a few mins left, the game was still close, so I stood back up and was chearing again, and again, people told me to sit down because they couldn't see the game. When I told them to stand up, they said if I didn't sit, they were gonna call security!!! I have season tickets to the eagles because we live up here and my mom usually gives them out to clients, but I get at least two games a year. I have never been told to sit down at an eagles game. I even wear my phins jerseys to the games, and the people, unless we are playin the eagles, love when I'm there.. I just know that it's one of the reasons I don't like goin to Miami home games.. Some of the people suck.. I'd rather sit uptop where the real fans are than down in front with old people who don't care anymore..

LOL. I had the same problem but when it happened to me, I was in the upper deck by the endzone where the "real fans" supposedly sit.

I would have told them to call security. Security would have laughed at them

We still have seats remaining for the broncos game, I cant believe the phins dont sell out all the time, i live in philly and even when the eagles were bad the fans came, that stadium needs to rock on sunday, we have to win all our home games to be competitive

it will sell out, or come damn close. Everyone wants to see this butt whoopin we are about to lay down on Denver.

Because since the Dolphins moved out of the Orange Bowl the same passion has never existed at the new stadium..in the old days, the orange bowl was the first place to cause penalties due to the crowds being so LOUD!!! now, the seats are too far from the feild AND THE FANBASE HAS BECOME MORE APATHETIC...thats what 30something years without a super bowl will do..

Also, In places like buffalo, green bay etc, there is really nothing else to do, Miami is not one of those cold weather cities with no nightlife or anything else to do

Orange bowl = small Dolphin stadium = HUGE

The stadium is pretty damn loud trust me. Why you ask.. i was on the feild last year during the bills home game. It was far from sold out but when those players ran onto the feild and the game started it was pretty F'n loud they could hear the fans. Downstairs you need to sit in the corners or endZone to get really rowdy!!! the sideliners pay WAY to much to miss the game. I sit sideline upstairs and while i do stand up i stand up in the isle ( my seats are right on the isle) The thing that reall F'N PISSES ME OFF is the dumb ***** that walk up and down the stairs during a play:

SIT YOUR BUTT DOWN WHILE A PLAY IS RUNNING SO PEOPLE CAN WATCH

As far as selling out. It will come people don't have a lot of faith yet. plus when a game gets blacked out, people start getting upset and to be honest i can't recall a back to back blackout

The reason we can't sell out is because the majority of Phinz fans living in the state of Florida are too damn lazy / cheap to get their collective ***** to the game...

If you're a Phinz fan living in the state of Florida, there's simply no excuse for not making it to the home games....

PHINZ RULE!!!

All i see when watching Dolphin games is those fruity colored lookin seats either filled with old people or completely empty....face it Miami has the worse fan base in the NFL, and everyone knows its true. Its not just the Dolphins, look at the U of miami who has a top 5 football team year in and year out, yet dont always fill their stadium.:shakeno: Miami is just not a sports town. The Dolphins should move to Los Angeles so real football fans can appreciate their team....
Arizona doesn't come to mind? Cleveland, S.F.? Ohhh that's right, since this is FINheaven, it has to be smack against the Dolphins. I keep forgetting

If memory serves correct your ticket sales dropped after the home playoff loss to Denver 38-3. I think people just got tired of the disapointment year after year.

Elway 2 Marino 0 :grouplaug

Mod Edit: Keep your smack talk in the depths. Last warning.

There is much more to do in Miami than to waste 4 hours to see a losing football team, those fans down there dont give a damn. Many of them only care about the Phins when they win, look at the Marlins and Heat when they are mediocre nobody shows up. The fans elsewhere outside of Miami are much more dedicated, only problem is it's much harder for us to get to games than it is for those south beach frauds.

I'm in Philly/South Jersey too and it boggles my mind as well. BTW, where are you watching the game this Sunday? I'm looking for a good watering hole.

We CAN sell out. But after last year I guess there's a WHOLE BUNCH of fairweather bandwagon jumpers that are waiting to see how they're gonna do.:shakeno: Disgusting. Somebody WILL buy the remaining tickets..Youll see.;)

I think the last preseason game was sold out (maybe one before I don't remember) but there wasn't really anyone in the stands..

I think people just like to buy the tickets and not go...heh.
