Why do so many people think we throw the season if we start Moore?

In 2011 Miami scored over 30 points 4 times when Moore was the starter that's more than Tannehill has in 2 ****ing years.

he threw 3 tds 3 times in his games strarting, it's not alot but it's just as much as tanny has in 2 years and 3 games.

He's not a good qb, but with this team he can and will win alot of games and will blow people out.

in garbage time games. the team was out of it. Now he would be expected to produce and win while the season is still alive. Something he has never been able to do.

Incorrect...the DOLPHINS have lost 4 of 5
You can't TRANSLATE wins..for the love of God man :bobdole:
The RT led Dolphins beat more than 5 teams last yr...including multiple playoff teams, so your theory is pure speculation.
Moore is what he is...a capable backup....end of story.

The third yr is supposed to be the year to see if a qb has the goods.....most here said they would give him 3 yrs...I know, I know, all you so called experts have seen enough after 2 years and 3 games. And you all might be right, but I am not ready to throw in the towel just yet on the kid. New system, finally has a running game (it looks like anyway), somewhat better pass protection....if I am coach, he plays until we are eliminated from the playoffs....no excuses this year and if he fails, the organization knows we have to draft a qb and do what it takes to get that qb.

Putting Moore in ain't gonna fix special teams...ain't gonna fix our poor lb group...and probably not gonna fix the dropped passes. In fact, unless he pulls a Kurt Warner type late career surge, it will just be a waste of time and we will be no better off than had we left RT in and RT fails....we will still need a qb. So my vote still is to go with the young, athletic, smart, and strong armed qb and to see if he can get this offense rolling.

It's funny, on the POFO forum, someone put up a thread from 2012, RT's rookie year. 95% of folks were sure this kid was IT. Some good smart respectable posters were just going ga ga over him. Take it to the bank, like a boss, I know qbs and this kid is legit is what I heard. The following year in the midst of bullygate, getting sacked a record number of times, almost doubling his TDS and throwing for almost 4,000 yards with no running game to speak of, the team lays 2 stinkers to finish the season and not qualify for the tournament. The whispers start to get louder how HE was the problem...yup a second yr qb who basically carried them (and the low pts allowed d helped too) to 8 wins with a very vanilla offense is now having his doubters. Now in his 3rd game of his 3rd season, with a new offensive system, folks want to flip out cause the offense is struggling. Folks, he is the same kid y'all loved 2 yrs ago, just a better version of him. Were you all WRONG back then? Still has some flaws for sure, but it would be a shame to be impatient and throw him away. Give him his three years and then you should know for sure. Flame away, just mho.

I disagree, hand him the reins and see what he has as the named starter. Not an insurance guy, but THE guy. What do we have to lose? Moore can be that spark we need to turn this thing around before it's too late. The excuses need to stop with Tannehill. No more, "I'm going to work harder every day" crap. Enough. If not in 3 years then it'll be never for him. The experiment is over to me. But I'm not married to him like the HC is.

Matt Moore is not a winning QB, his "success" in winning games have come late in seasons w/ his teams out of it. You aren't going anywhere w/ Moore. Might as well stick w/ Ryan.

Says the guy with Geno Smith.

There is no such thing as garbage time games, these guys are getting paid to play.

I've been watching garbage games for 2 years now if you wanna categorize it.

If Matt Moore Somehow gets the start this week, I predict the Dolphins WILL make the playoffs and I will explain why. The offense will be energized when he hits Mike Wallace on that first deep pass. The players will show up to practice with the kind of enthusiasm that winning teams have and will take that swagger and confidence to the games. In another 3 weeks or so Moreno will be back along with Pouncey. You WILL NOT see as many sacks (aka negative plays) because Moore can get rid of the ball faster. Because Moore is a better downfield thrower, the team will get into the red zone a lot more thus you will see more points on the board. Anybody want to argue with that? Notice I am not saying Moore is Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Brady, Rivers, Big Ben, or even Joe Flacco. What Moore will provide is more energy throughout the entire team which goes a very long way.

And all that energy will leave just as fast as it came when he throws one of his inevitable pick 6 or bonehead multi pick game. But hey your opinion counts just as much as mine, but I disagree strongly with your "reasons" why we will automatically make the playoffs if Moore gets inserted.

he was also playing with those same type of guys.

he may have been playing vs 2nd and 3rd stringers, but he also had those guys as his weapons.

moore is no savior, but he will look like one compared to the dull offense led by tannehill that we see on display weekly.
Moore will bring excitement, for sure. Wins? Not so much...
Meaningful victories against winning teams? Let me know when that happens, it will a first.

This is such a tough call for me. I know my posts defend the idea of going with Moore but I am torn. I just hate the idea that Matt Moore can't possibly be better or that posters who want him think he's some special QB who is a hall of famer the Dolphins are holding back. That drives me nuts. I just think that Philbin has watched Tannehill for 35 games and 3 years worth of practices. If his conviction is that he's the franchise QB who is struggling you stick with him though thick and thin. I have no problem with that. However you also give him the vote of confidence when addressing the media. You don't ***** foot around it with best 46 guys ****. This tells me that he may not believe Tannehill is the guy. There were also rumors that finheaven shot down this offseason that Tannehill would be on a short leash and more recently that the Dolphins were concerned about Tannehill coming into the season (Mortenson). I believe there is some truth to just about every rumor that comes from a real source. My point is if Philbin doesn't believe Tannehill is the guy just make the change. If Matt Moore can float around an 85 QB rating (he was 87 in 2011) it would make a huge difference in this offense. I know we likely don't win the Super Bowl with Matt Moore as our QB but how can anyone say we have a better chance with Tanny with the way he's played lately?

I just hate to stick with Tanny if they don't believe in him and go to Moore to late. Remember it took Moore a little time to get going last time and he hasn't been a starting QB in 3 years. I also hate a fools gold game in London where Tannehill makes a few nice passes and we beat Oakland 16-10 or something like that. I also hope there are no bozo's that predict a 30+ game for us if Tannehill starts.

well tannehill certainly is not bringing us wins, so what do we have to lose.

7 pts in final 2 games last year with playoffs on the line.with the exception of an awesome 2nd half for the fins offense, they have 35 pts scored in 3 games on offense. that is absolutely pathetic

This is another thing I love about Finheaven. If it's a QB we like, it's never his fault but if it's a QB we don't like it's always his fault. Look at Pennington in 2008. We got the playoffs with a team that wasn't all that talented because of efficient QB play. We won every single game we "SHOULD HAVE WON" in that year because Chad Pennington doesn't blow games. Yet Finheaven just kills him for losing a playoff game vs a much more talented football team. Could you imagine what Ryan Tannehill would look like with Ted Ginn, Greg Camarillo, David Martin and Anthony Fasano as hi top pass catchers?

I'm cool with with all you said Dude. But can you please stop calling TanneHenne 2.0 "The Kid" it is just makes my blood boil dude. The Kid does not seem to have the Goods.

Nothing at all....if you have come to the conclusion that RT ain't the guy....it doesn't matter who you start then....I just don't think that decision has been made yet.

so the fact that Moore was playing against burger flippers and stock boys doesn't matter?

Ryan played against those same guys and we ineffective.
Your sarcasm is very telling. You have no counter argument when faced with the facts.
