Why is everyone so hard on MIA???

I'm biased obviously being a Bills fan and will say that having JP Losman should not hurt us too bad. Can't be much worse off since we got rid of Deadsloe under center.

I'll agree with ya there. People worrying about Losman choking and such should realize that he'd have to be the equivalent of Ray Lucas to be worse than Bledsoe and honestly, Losman was a pretty dangerous passer in college - good arm, good decisions, and mobile. It wouldn't surprise me if he turned into a pretty decent QB down the road.

Id agree 100% with what you said...except our team on paper isnt anything like it was last year. :D

It's worse. The secondary is worse. The d-line is worse. We haven't had any big upgrades at o-line or QB.

I think in order for us to take 2 steps forward we need to take a step back. And that is what we are doing this year.

I don't buy into the fact that because our o-line got 1 full year of experience they are now automatically better. Experience is nice, but if you stink you stink. And some guys on our o-line just stink. Example is Seth McKinney. Nice player, but he has been around a few years now and what you see is what you get. No coach will turn him into a pro bowl great center. He is what he is. An average to below average center. All the expereince in the world won't change that. Some guys will improve and get better sure, but to just say they will be better because they have a year under their belt is just being a blind homer who is wishing and hoping.

A new head coach in his first year may struggle! I'm biased obviously being a Bills fan and will say that having JP Losman should not hurt us too bad. Can't be much worse off since we got rid of Deadsloe under center. With the number 2 defense pretty much intact ( losing Williams wasn't good but Edwards should step up nicely ) and having Willis McGahee, Moulds, Evans, and an unproven Parrish...JP doesn't have to win them, just NOT lose them!! Our special teams is awesome and Parrish could be very very dangerous as a return man.
I see the Fins going 8-8. That would be a big improvement. Hoping for 10-6 out of the Bills.

If the Bills go 10-6 with JP Lossman in his first full season at QB...I would be shocked.

How do you figure our DL is worse? Chester and Bowens were out for almost the entire season last year.

I mis-spoke, sorry. The D-line isn't worse. It's just bad in my opinion.

Bowens is out this year. Chester won't be 100% this year. Im not sold on Holliday or Carter being any good. I have a little more hope for Carter than I do for Holliday who I just view as an NFL turd.

I know you mean well and are just trying to be real but part of being a true fin fan is always think we're gonna be champs...... You may be right but there are a shyt load of reasons we could surprise or even shock the nfl, one being flat out talent

If Buff wasn't solid in all other areas, I'd agree. Willis will have more than his fair share of carries. Roscoe Parrish is going to make ( hopefully ) and already great Special Teams even better. The Defense will once again keep us in tight games.
What killed us last year was "The Statue" Bledsoe. When the Bills started last year at 0-4, we lost 3 of those by 4 points or less! That was with Travis Henry in the backfield. Travis is a power downhill runner. He never had the speed to break to the outside. This year we will see what Willis can REALLY do!
Losman has a lot of help with Moulds, Evans, and Parrish! And he can move out of the pocket which Bledsoe could NOT do! One of the big question marks in Buff is not only how well Losman does, but our tightend situation is questionable. JP is going to need a good Tightend to be successful. Most young QB's use their Tightends extensivly. If JP ( who is known for ability to move around ) doesn't get happy feet and panic, then he'll do fine. I know a whole bunch of Bills fan who are going to pretty nervous come opening day against the Texans.

yeah but can Parrish catch

Comments from the training ota's say he's got great hands! That's not to say how he is going to do during the season but everyone is pretty optimistic. He is impressing the coaches.

I just cant understand why everyone in the US is so down on the Dolphins, saying that we are gonna go 3-13 or whatever this year. I am a bartender in CA so I do get to talk to a lot of unbiased football fans towards MIA in my area. I just break down the following upgrades from last year, a year when we went 4-12.........

1. Nick Saban replacing Dave Wandstadt
2. Hudson Houck our new OL Coach. One of the most renowned men in the game.
3. Scott Linehan as our new O Coordinator.

Because of the fact that we were in a lot of the games last year late into the third quarter, I think that the coaching upgrades alone will bring our win total up from last year.

Two of our draft picks, Roth and Crowder, at one time, close to the draft, were considered mid to late first rounders.
The addition of Stockar McDougal and Vernon Carey seemingly turning his mindset around will make the production of our o-line better(cant get any worse than it was).
Boston taking it easy through training camp and just having to be a #3(if he stays healthy) is one of the best wide reciever trios in the game today.
When Ricky was around, everyone was on our bandwagon as a SB contender. Well now we have Ricky back, at a different role, with Ronnie Brown leading.

Sorry for rambling, but I see us at at least 8-8 this year!!!!

I agree that people nationally are underrating your team a bit but at the same time this Dolphins team will struggle to hit .500. If you were in the NFC West then you could talk about surprising people but you play in the AFC East, the toughest division in football.

You have to play the Pat, Bills, and Jets TWICE next year and all your division rivals are strong playoff contenders next year.

You also don't even have a starting QB yet. Feeley and Frerotte are not going to scare anybody. Could either be serviceable? That's gotta be your hope but don't expect bold predictions for a team that hasn't even found its starting QB.

Nick Saban could turn out to be a great coach. He is this years big name college coach entering the NFL. But until you actually see this team perform in the regular season you will have nothing but hope to go on here, Saban is an unknown quantity as an NFL head coach.

When a team like the Dolphins has a tremendous winning history, the media likes to really kick the team when they are down. They may not have another opportunity to bash the Fins for a long time. All this anger is decades built up because we have been good for so long.

This is true. In my experience a lot of people around the country hate the Dolphins.
Same for UM.

Props Dogtag. for a bills fan that was actually a pretty objective post. I think the Bills took a step back this year by starting losman and may do worse if they dont fix the LOT position but think they will be in a very strong position in 2006 to make a run if Losman shows progress

Yeah right.

maybe your team just sucked last year and is in rebuilding mode. Just like media was down on every team that sucked in the past. Just because your team had a great past doesn't mean they are exempt from getting bashed when they suck.

No one is jealous of your past because people care about the present and the future.

Do you expect media to pick the fins win the sb every year because they had a perfect season in the early 70's?

as a general rule the media simply looks at what teams did the season before and states that they will do the same. There are exceptions as when teams bring in superstars to their team (Moss to the Raiders, wrs to the Ravens) where they hype them but generally whatever the record of last season the writers will add or take away 1 to 2 games.

That's just retarted. Plain and simple.
