Why Not Promote Brian Gaine?

Ireland stooge? Mediocrity love this if this is made.

In your line of work, have you ever thought about how you would do your superior's job differently if you were in his spot?

Also, if you do not like what you are seeing, why make future commitments to an outside GM? Ross has shown to force marriages together.

I hate when people think that Gaine will be the same as Ireland.

Such a straw man argument that the small minded people come up with.

Biggest fallacy in the world when it comes to workplaces is that a subordinate employee holds the same values and view of the job as his or her boss.

Jeff's biggest problems were an inability to plan long-term and construct a cohesive roster, and a complete and utter lack of people skills. Gaine has people skills. We'll see if he can build a roster.

Everyone knows I am not a Philbin guy, but I want to win NOW. Not years from now, but next season. Gaine gives the team the best chance to do that. Seemless transition. Both Gaine and Joe know they need to produce in 2014…and if it does not work you are not committed longterm to a brand new, outside GM.

Again, it makes too much sense so Lake Dawson will be the new GM tomorrow.

Don't worry, Ross will find a way to **** this up so badly that Gaine quits and we're left with that Hickey guy from Tampa Bay.

You know what is funny? Hickey is the only guy that I just never wanted from the get go. It means the job is his with my karma I got going.

Yup. Brace for it. I now got a deathly fear that we are going to **** this up so bad that our new GM is the former Bucs assistant even though the actual Bucs GM who had experience and kind of got shafted and would be a MUCH better hire than anyone we're looking at is apparently someone Ross isn't even remotely interested in hiring.

Because Steve Ross. Derp.

At this point, I hope they just promote Gaine. He's here, he knows the roster, he knows it's deficiencies and from everything I've read about him, he is well respected in league circles despite his association with Ireland. It's a crap shoot since we really don't know what we would have gotten from any of the other candidates...time will tell. At this stage of the game, Gaine is the best choice IMO.

Remember Dennis Hickey "hit out of the park" in his interview. Brace up you are right.

IF Gaine does not get the job, he should resign ASAP. Why stay?

With the fiasco that just occurred with Caserio I wonder if Gaine still wants the job. If he does, I agree that he's by far the best candidate standing.

Just hire a guy but really don't want Gaine. The owner doesn't want him so why should I although hmm maybe we should do the opposite of what the owner wants.
I would like someone that has not been a part of the problem here. Maybe Gaine will be good and I was in his corner at one point but if he was that respected by team the process would not have went like this

why is he by far best canidate

I think we should just promote Gaine. Only reason I say that is because I have a nasty feeling he will only be GM for a year. Best thing we can all hope for is for Ross to sell the team next year.

One of the least effective owners in the league to this point although all it takes is one great decision
