Why the "Fireland" crowd is just not getting it.

Honestly, I don't give a crap what happens to Ireland in the offseason. I just wanna destroy the damn Jets next week.

Ireland has just been SO hit or miss. Great finds with guys like Cam Wake, Grimes, Tannehill then HUGE strike-outs with our entire '13 draft (production wise - inexcusable), Wheeler, our lack of an OL.

Ultimately, it is Ireland's job to fill this roster with talent and we have HUGE holes on the OL and depth across the entire team. He hasn't been terrible, but he, like our coaches and our team, hasn't been consistent, either.

We should have had more help at tackle anyway but when your left tackle goes AWOL during minicamp and there are rumors of him being suicidal/abusing drugs then you REALLY should think about getting more o-line help.

Even some Ireland lovers admit the shoddy o-line cost us at least one game, and one game would have already clinched the playoffs for us and might have cost us much more. We're just lucky Tannehill is one tough SOB, how do you potentially risk the career of the guy you're hoping will be your franchise? Makes no ****ing sense.

You're in fantasy land. Ireland has done a **** job, Tanny may be our franchise guy but if Ireland wasn't basically forced to take him, he would've gone elsewhere and we would be stuck with some bum playing quarterback, maybe even geno smith. 4 new o lineman, a new running back, another TE, defensive tackles, our linebackers signed by Ireland this offseason are trash and a downgrade even from the garbage last year, the giant deal for Jones who has gone MIA. The list goes on, anyone who doesn't see this through the wins and losses are blind. 8-7 is NOTHING. Big deal. Take off the aqua colored glasses and look at this from an outsiders view, I would laugh at this team if I wasn't a fan. One notch above the jets and bills if that.

I guess you were in the war room when the decision was made gotcha.

I dont understand this group. Is it just a scapegoat for your anger today?

The players did not execute today - but that is not b/c the entire team, that everyone was praising last week is irelands "bums"

Some say bad coaching - well that was Ross's hire, and i still think the coaches are ok, minus sherman. (the one guy i think could go, really has not done well at all)

We have finally gotten some really nice pieces on offense and defense. Mind you, these are the types of guys Philbin asked for, to fit his game, and it is working, but now we need to solidify the offensive trenches. IF you remember GB, then you'll remember that the Line sucked the first couple years of A. Rodgers, but after they finally got some protection - super bowl. Philbin builds outisde-in, everyone was always so angry and always bitching when parcells wanted to build inside-out. How is this Ireland's fault? it takes about 3 years to build a team in the coaches mold/philosophy.

We are basically a few OL and one LB away from having a very solid team talent-wise: add in a shifty RB, and its that much better. Since ireland has implemented Philbin's style we've gotten (or developed)

2 Very good CB's, until one of them got hurt, and even so Carroll is solid.

A great sleeper tight end with tons of heart and run after the catch ability

A FRANCHISE QUARTER BACK

a solid 3-4 WR corps - yeah they had a bad game today - so what? does megatron and Detroits whole offense "suck" b/c they have not been executing?

we have a very good D-Line, we just need ONE MORE LB to sure up our running defense. Passing D is good. Hell, the bills didnt do anything today anyway - we just SUCKED on offense due to mostly a bad line and bad weather.

The biggest screw up of this season was signing wheeler - he has been a huge bust. As far as the O-Line - you dont just lose a perennial pro-bowl left tackle and easily recover, plus ireland concentrated on other areas - next season we will have some room to bring in some OL talent via FA and the draft, and concentrate on it more at once. Also, you cannot fault ireland with the Long, or Bush losses - i firmly believe philbin did not want them here. One screw up is not the end of the world.

I guess my conclusion is simply this: We are LITERALLY 1 LB, a few OL, and maybe a FB away from having a completly, 100% solid football team - FINALLY, after years of "blowing it up trying again, blowing it up trying again, half blowing it up, half trying again etc etc etc" - FINALLY, FINALLY, we are a few players away, and people want to bring in a GM, who may or may not like tanney, may or may not like philbin etc??? why would we do that again? we either strike GOLD with some new GM, or more likely, we wait another 3-5 years just to SEE if MAYBE this one pans out - no, im sorry ONE MORE YEAR of PHILBIN/IRELAND/TANNEY - they get that - like everyone else does in this league. Just calm down.

I admit i was crazy today earlier too - who wouldnt be after that disgusting game? but try to be objective here - losing to Tampa after the media frenzy has a ton to do with our position right now with the playoff picture, and even the defending SB champs are in the same position this year.

Dude, we heard this speech before. NOTHING is ever Ireland's fault. We get it. Ireland is the greatest GM ever.

Ozzy rules!!

this will never end. It just never will....and eventually when the next guy comes in.....guess what? the women in here will be screaming at their daddys.

We are in a playoff battle for the final spot with the defending Super Bowl champs in only a second year of an already inexperienced franchise QB. This year we will prob win two more games than last amidst a ridiculous media frenzy on something that nobody could have predicted.

Many of you say....blah blah, ten years of mediocrity. Well, perhaps that is frustrating. However, if its not clear to you that what this team is doing now is largely different than the past then I don't know what to tell you. I do know that blowing up Ireland and potentially losing Philbin isn't the way to go. That will just perpetuate mediocrity. Ross knows this so don't hold your breath on anybody going anywhere.

We just had one awful game, get back from the ledge.

If our situation was as positive as you'd like us to believe, you wouldn't have to spin this hard to make us believe it.

i got banned for verbally beating idiots like you on the reg. How does it feel watching the majority of your phins games at friggen 10 in the morning? get the hell outta here bro.

This makes zero sense. You're criticizing the guy because of his location being the reason why he has to watch his games early? Wow! Not surprising coming from an Ireland lover. On a side note, I would love to watch games at 10 AM, why destroy my whole day watching this team?

Zero spin...facts. We are in fact in a playoff battle with the defending Super Bowl champs. Fact, our offense has played better all season than it has in a long time. Fact, our defense is getting more turnovers per game than a longtime and generally playing better.

My personal belief is that the Tanny pick was forced on Ireland. The grimes pick was a major chance, high risk high reward. If grimes didn't return to pro bowl form, just think how bad our secondary would be after IRELAND decided to draft 2 corners high, trade one away, let one walk and then draft ANOTHER 2 corners high that wear gym shorts on the sideline every week. As for wake, that was probably more parcells, than Ireland and there was like 12 teams that wanted him, he chose to come here.

Stupid to admit that seeing as its against the rules to create a new account.
