Why would anyone take Pitts over Smith?

I think Parsons falls to 18 and is the steal of the draft for what we want to do on defense
Could very well be!! At the end of the day, I just want us to draft stud players at every position who PERFORM on Sundays. I don’t want any workout warrior types tho. Real playmakers all over the field!

That claim can usually be made by most all programs as well. Even the NFL seems to do it. However, I admit while I’m not overly concerned with his workouts and stuff, I personally don’t like the look. He’s always been a high character guy and it seems to counter what he’s always been. But hey, he’s not the first nor will he be the last.
No, he's not...

I've advocated for this before... Once Covid is over and we can have combines again... anyone who ducks a drill, goes home... immediately.

You only get to come to the combine if you agree to run ALL of the drills.

This bullshit of ducking the drills where you know you'll fail... has gotten way to prevalent, and much too obvious.

Now, this won't help us with Smith this year, but because of his actions, I am going to guess that he weighs... maybe... 165 when he plays, and loses speed when he tries to gain weight, because this is what his ACTIONS tell me.

At that weight, I think he'll have problems in the NFL with their 20 game season, bigger and stronger players, and parity of team strength. And I don't think that this is an unreasonable prediction...

I have him as a second rounder who'll do almost all of his damage outside the 20 yard line. A good, but not great player... Yes, Will Fuller seems apt. If he gives you more... bonus!

I don't hate him, I just think that he is the most overrated prospect in this draft.

I get your point. I don’t like it personally either from a fan stand point. However, I think they have discussed restrictions type stuff in the past and it was viewed as an epic fail bc so many players legit can’t do certain things bc of injury, or as u pointed out they choose not to.
I do get and understand your concerns and those of other posts about his size and all. Believe me I get it. I simply just don’t agree nor see it in his game anymore than any other player. That’s my opine. Some people, regardless of their lack of ideal size are durable, and some are workout warrior epic fail types who stay injured as well.
Some things are impossible to measure just as the heart of the player. ✌️

I can't argue with that... at the end of the day, each of us makes a guess on which prospects that we believe in.

...and I'm wrong as much as I'm right.

If I stood here and steadfastly insisted I was right, even after the facts had proved me wrong, I'd be a 'bama fan. LOL.

Their fanbase has become very spoiled and unrealistic for sure. I root against Bama almost every time they take field, mainly bc what Saban did to our Fins. It’s actually funny how I become a fan of many of their players when coming out to the NFL and how they project. At the end of the day, I’m simply a fan of watching athletic greatness on the field. I really love this time of year!

I LOVE... LOVE this time of year. I think I prefer it to the actual season. I love the team-building stuff, and I love to debate.

A lot of folks here don't really understand those of us with open minds, they think anyone who disagrees with them is attacking them personally, and this just isn't what I'm into.

There are... maybe... 5 or 6 people on this entire web site that I don't care for, and even some of the ones who I always disagree with seem to be really cool guys... I wish this didn't get so ugly, so often.

Ya know?

I’ve said the same exact thing at work today when talking to a guy who doesn’t follow the draft but is a bug football fan. I love this time better than the season too.

Yes, when you are very passionate about something, like ME, that passion breeds a more hostile tone than intended most times. Agreed!!!

Now that we're friends...

Smith sucks!

LOL

It's yet to be proven that Smith would be an upgrade over Fuller.

As with every rookie in every draft...
True...

IMO, there is a better chance a getting a reasonable alternative for Smith through the first three rounds than there would be for Pitts.

I'm a Waddle supporter between the two Bama WRs.

I want to know if we do draft Pitts would we list him as a TE or WR. At TE we do have Gesicki, Smythe, Shaheen, and Mack Hollins as of now. If we list him as a TE one of them will be gone and my pick would be Hollins.

He is a tight end. What we classify in a playbook as an f type tight end. We can line him up in the slot in any part of the field. Which we can disguise run plays also. He puts effort into blocking but blocking isnt something that we expect from these type of tight ends. He would be a great end zone threat.
