Will people BELIEVE in this team if they beat the Patriots in Week 1?

Does a win make a statement no matter what? Or would they have to stomp the Patriots in order to make believers out of people?
 
Maybe if we won only 4-5 games last year people would call it a choke, but we won 7 and definitely should have won more. It's a primetime game, and right off the bat people will think Miami is the real deal. It's a huge opportunity for the Dolphins, something they need to take advantage of.
 
A win over the Patriots would be impressive but not enough, not just one win. Not for me at least.
 
We seem to give Brady and the boys a tough time most games. I would not be surprised to see Miami win this one. Then again I would not be surprised to see Miami stomped into the ground.
 
Won't say believe . . . I'll say we would definitely open up some eyes, and maybe a few people will pick us against the Texans the next week. I can almost guarantee, at this point . . . not one ESPN analyst is picking us in either of our first 2 games.
 
It wouldn't be enough to convince everyone. Most would claim fluke or because the Pats were caught off guard so early in the season. Then they would say we would have to beat the Pats again.

It would be enough for me to say, now we have the confidence to beat anyone. If we beat the Pats week 1, we will beat houston also.
 
Reverse question: After we get slaughtered...will the homers wake up?
 
The media will accuse us of cheating if we win. =) Or they will just gloss over it and show highlights from the Jets and Eagles games at length till we get sick.

it really all depends on how henne looks in my opinion, if he plays a strong, solid game and helps lead us to victory, I think people will start believing, if we win this game in spite of henne, people will still have their doubts, as they should...and this post is not to say that qb is the only position that matters but for the fins it is the make or break position between us being a contender or pretender, we have a very good defense but nothing like the ravens defense that took trent dilfer to a title, we need a legitimate qb and hopefully chad henne will prove to be such

Are you hoping we lose? Whether or not I like what the management / coaches have done, come Sunday I will root like hell for the Dolphins to kick the *** of every team they are playing. I hope that you, and every other finheaven member here are too.
 
how do you look up Henne's career stats vs New England? I know he has put some yards up on them in a couple of games.
 
I think that it would mean more towards the rest of the league that this is a year where you can't overlook the Dolphins. I think we are going to the playoffs already.
