Will people BELIEVE in this team if they beat the Patriots in Week 1?

Just win baby, just win, does not matter by how much. They accomplish that the media will be spitting all over themselves trying to explain it. Just beat NE even if its by 1 point. JUST WIN BABY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It'll probably turn a lot of heads, but it'll take more wins than that to make everyone see us as legit. On a side note, can we PLEASE beat Houston for once?!

Does a win make a statement no matter what? Or would they have to stomp the Patriots in order to make believers out of people?

It would be a positive step, but has one game ever proven anything?(unless its the superbowl)? Consistency is defined by sustained quality play...not one week.

However...I would be jacked if we knock them off...no matter the score.

No! We have beaten strong Patriots teams before and had it amount to nothing. It will be hot and there isn't lots of film available on what we will be doing just yet.

I'd like to see us come out NO HUDDLE in this game to get those 2 big fatties in the middle of NE's defense sucking wind early in the Miami heat. However if we don't execute it could be suicide.

As long as the special team don't have a meltdown we should win this game. If we are going to be contenders we have to protect our house against our divisional opponents. So, if we win we are just doing what we are suppose to be doing..

I already believe, despite Hennebot. That's right, I woke up feeling pretty confident this morning. I DON'T blame the happy pills.

it really all depends on how henne looks in my opinion, if he plays a strong, solid game and helps lead us to victory, I think people will start believing, if we win this game in spite of henne, people will still have their doubts, as they should...and this post is not to say that qb is the only position that matters but for the fins it is the make or break position between us being a contender or pretender, we have a very good defense but nothing like the ravens defense that took trent dilfer to a title, we need a legitimate qb and hopefully chad henne will prove to be such

This is it right here. To beat Patriots is one thing, but to do it with an explosive offense after this offseason particularly? People will be impressed but guys like mike and mike will just brush it off and say we will fizzle.

To me, the offensive philosophy change while executing will tunr heads. I say you will know this team is playoff bound if we beat 1) Patriots on MNF and 2) Beat the unbeatable Houston Texans on a short week. Thats it for me.

BTW, i dont see covering ochocinco as being much of a problem. we made that guy invisible in cincy. yeah brady and pats but guy is just past his prime. He may have a decent season, but not on us that night IMO. u can hold me to it. no prob.

The infamous Bledsoe Bowl. In the season finale that year the Pats beat the Bills by the same exact score, lol.

Just for the sake of factual accuracy, Drew went to the Bills in 2002. The 2003 opener was when Lawyer Milloy was cut 3 days before the start of the season and immediately signed by Buffalo. The Patriots were trying to get Milloy to restructure his contract, but he wasn't budging. In the aftermath, there were rumblings in the media that Buffalo had been tampering with Milloy and had already told his agent how much they were willing to pay, but none of it was ever proven.

As to the point of the thread, it depends on how the win occurs. If Brady sprains his shoulder and is out of the game in the first quarter, and the Dolphins manage to barely win 17-16 because Brian Hoyer can't pass his way out of a paper bag on MNF, then no one will crown the Fish.

But if the Dolphins come out and curb stomp the Patriots like they did in the first Wildcat game, or like Cleveland did last year, just dominating them on the ground, then the Fish will get a lot of respect.

Reverse question: After we get slaughtered...will the homers wake up?

c'mon man. We have a good shot of beating them. If the TE's don't go nuts we should win this game. We should have beat them last year until the stupid teams decided to give up a touchdown on every kickoff, punt, and special teams play known to man.

I like playing NE first game of the season because I beleive it gives us an edge... What I dont like about it is the prospect of me, monday night 11:30 PM destroying everything within reach because the Fins got steam rolled again.. But I'm pretty confident that by that time, I'll just be calling every single Pats fan I know in a mood of glorious victory and distributing considerable troll like attitude to those arrogant sons of *******

I'm suprised more of you wouldn't consider it a huge win and a statement game, Jets fans would be pre ordering their Super Bowl tickets.

Brady had some rough games down there, the heat kills us I'm glad the game is at night. We have been running a pressure based 4-3 instead of our "read and react" 3-4 so we could be vunerable to a good running team especially early on, we'll see how your rookie RB does.

Did not see that Frost Warning for Hell week 1.

The bigger question ... Will people BELIEVE if we get bee-otch slapped. THAT's the question.
