Will Scott Linehan Defect to Minnesota Next Season as Head Coach?

I was thinking about this at halftime. Just who will take over for Linehan when he leaves (and he will leave, as he will be a hot commodity)??

I guess it will be Baggett.

We will get at least two years out of him. Linehan won't be bolting after this season.

If he turns Miami into a top 10 offense he'd definately be gone after those 2 years. Lotta front offices believe hell would freeze over first

I think it is way too early for Linehan to be a head coach.
It's common knowledge that you pretty much get one shot at being a head coach in the NFL
If you fail that's it for your career as a head coach or any prospects of becoming a head coach again (in the NFL)
That's a big risk considering how young he is.
I'm sure he's aware of that

thats generally true. thats prob why Fassel hasnt gotton a job yet.

i would think minny is one of the better jobs in the NFL. is that true? they have been a winning team for the most part and franchise QB

i would think they'd want to hire a HC instead of an OC.

I don't see him leaving for a few years and I'm not worried about it right now...I really don't see how if he turns down that job he will never get another shot....If the Phins keep winning and getting better then he will always be in demand. I sure hope we have him for at least 3 years...Even that might not be long enough to educate someone else up to his level.

At least Miami has a big edge climate wise over Minny....Maybe Linehan is through with the arctic weather for good...Besides...If he was so all fired happy up there why would he uproot the family to come down here? Oh yeah...The money. Well if they offer him 3 million we should just offer him 3.2 to stay.:goof:

I think I might be the only one that thought Minnesota would struggle.

Everyone had them pegged to be a superbowl team this year with their improved defense. I have always been a huge Culpepper bashers saying that he lived off of the people around him. I actually hope this continues, he got far too much credit for playing with Chris Carter, Randy Moss, top 3 pass blocking O line, top 5 offensive coordinators.

The reason they look clueless on offense is because Culpepper is used to having 5 seconds in the pocket and at least one man who breaks open because of one on one coverage across the field or a bracket in Moss' direction.

One name I think people might be surprised at could be Jason Garrett. I have heard good tings about him and when watching the game today, the players seemed to be embracing him. Next year may be a little too early for ihm, but I think he is going to make a great coach in this league someday.

Nice observation...We need Linehan to school him.

You're not the only one...I made the point in some other forums that they wouldn't be as good...I didn't think I was being brilliant either...seemed logical to me after losing Moss and Linehan...But I still took Burleson in my fantasy league...:smackhead

I remember after Saban was hired and he started building his coaching staff he said (to the effect) that the coaches he is bringing in can do the job 1) now and 2) to be groomed to do the job in the future because he knows and is planning on losing some coaches over time. I think he knows he will lose some coaching staff as the phins become successful again and he is already preparing for it.

Nope your not the only one ... and I agree completely that Culpepper is overrated.

From what saban has stressed in previous PC's, would suggest exactly that.
From the grunts, to the top minds in the game that money can buy, the entire program appears to be structured on teaching and building from within.

That is, once he's happy with who he's got.. :D

we had our top 4 receivers each catch 4-5 catches and our TE caught 5 as well.
Some silly drops... but this passing offense is obviously better than it's been since Marino!!!!
