If you'd take Reggie Wayne over Chris Chambers I seriously question your football knowledge and judge of talent.

Wow Mr Short-term memory.
How soon we forget how a few years ago he led all AFC WR's with 11 TD's on a team that played Wanny-Ball (Running 65 times a game for a 1.2 YPC AVG) with a QB who's not good enough to start for USC?
Please.
I agree that he needs to step up and believe he will. But there were games when he would get the ball thrown his way like 3-4 times and he was WIDE OPEN quite a bit.
Jake Plummer I think.phinman1 said:Who was throwing to Boldin when he caught way over 1,000 yards as a rook? Or Boston when he was having a monster season?
Superself said:What he lacks is consistency. He makes circus catches sure, but those are not the bread and butter plays that make opposing defensive coordinators stay awake at night.
Most of the corners Chambers is up against, he probably either can out jump them, out muscle them or out run them.
If he was "Marvin Harrison" consistent, he would be as good as Randy Moss.
Can he put it all together and be that guy?
I hope so.

Harrison is consistent because he has a steady, consistent, probably future hall of famer throwing to him. I am ready to finally see Chambers put it all together though. About the contract, I think he is only in the top 12 or so in pay, so I see nothing wrong with that.
Dubfire said:What about consistency from:
A. The QB
B. The offensive system
C. The offensive coaching staff
D. The offensive coordinators
You have to look at the big picture man. I agree CC needs to step up and no he is not an elite receiver yet. But he has put up some VERY good numbers on some very bad offenses.
Superself said:Yeah and every year its some excuse why he doesn't step it up.
That is why its more critical he not miss balls like that.
As I mentioned before, we can't put him in a bubble and give him a perfect QB, the best offensive system, coaching staff and coordinators. He has to use his strengths/advantages on a consistent basis and go out there and get it done.

Yeah, those guys never drop passes. How soon you forget the one he caught in the JAX game. One of the least intelligent post EVER on FH!!Superself said:That sure TD catch he missed in the last preseason game by the pylon is what separates him from other WRs who routinely get 1000+ yard seasons and pro bowl births.
Players like Torry Holt, Andre Johnson, Marvin Harrison, Chad Johnson, Javon Walker, Reggie Wayne, Nate Burelson, Hines Ward, Roy Williams, Joe Horn,...etc would have caught that football.
I'm tired of the excuses with Chambers. He has to step it up and be that deep threat!! Yes that means beating double teams and making the hard catch. Its what other damn good WRs do.
