Caddy I think has an immediate impact where as Mike Williams might also but I think his value comes over the lifetime of his skills....basically I think Mike Williams will have a longer career than DJ. Of course that's just guessing, I have no proof of that. I do however believe that a LB has a shorter career playing in 3-4 def than a 4-3. There was an article written on that a few years back when Pitt was dominating (still very good) and being the only 3-4 team at the time..until Carolina entered the league. On that note you could possibly uses Pitts LBs as an example...they dominate for a 3-4 year period and then MANY of them endure a littany of injuries. Of course, that's no definitive proof since all players are physically different but interesting none the less. blah blah blah.:)
That is interesting, but my main reason actually for wanting DJ with the 7 is that if Houck fixes our OLine like I think he will then what we have should get the job done. If he doesnt get it fixed then none of the big 3 in my opinion have a chance except to get hammered like Gordon did. At least DJ would be able to get in there and play and with Seau coming off of an injury and with his age how long is he going to be good for?
I mean I havent seen any clips of the big 3 RB's where their OLine fell apart and there were 2 DLineman on them as soon as they got the ball. They all had outstanding lines at outstanding schools when they played. Is a lot more even in the NFL.
