Worst trade...EVER

Worst ever? I don't think so. To back up my argument I present:

1st round pick for Rob Johnson
1st round pick for Drew Bledsoe
1st round pick for Rick Mirer

I'm sure there are hundreds more.

All he said was the Gordon trade was worse than the Feeley trade. The title of the thread is an exaggeration.

Realistically if we didn't trade for Feeley or gordon our draft would have been much different.....

1st round pick 2- Ronnie Brown
2nd round pick 3- Corey Webster
2nd round pick 14- Matt Roth
3rd round pick 2- Channing Crowder
3rd round pick 6- either Richie Incognito or Nick Kaczur
4th round pick 3- either Kyle Orton or Elton Brown
5th round pick 26- Anthony Alabi
7th round pick 2- Kevin Vickerson

If we had not made those trades we would have Webster over Daniels
A guard or center in the third and either a guard or QB in the 4th. If anyone remembers correctly Saban wanted to grab Elton Brown but was forced to take Daniels because he felt he was the only quality CB left. He stated that he originally planned on grabbing Webster. Now I do think we had a quality draft but hey this one would have been pretty nice.

I wonder if anyone would agree that dave and rick are absolutely the worse thing to ever happen to the dolphins. i just dont think gordon or minor nor a.j will make very many big plays for us . i say we should keep kay-jay ,sage , evans, . i think rick was the most boneheaded gm any team could ever have in their front office.

Daniels was so off the radar, Nick may have even been able to grab him in the 5th. Of course, there might not have been the required swap of 5th rounders in the Surtain deal if KC was less aware that they had Miami over a barrel due to lack of picks. That is another way these trades may have hurt the team.

Rick is not nearly as bad as you make him out to be. As I mentioned before, I think the Gordon trade was forced upon him. He screwed up twice if you ask me: trading with the Vikings because they tricked him and missing on Feeley. Every GM misses, and many of them get taken a little bit in the draft from time to time. I'll go so far to say that Rick didn't get enough of an opportunity to really do what he wanted and that I think he'll eventually get another chance somewhere.

Miami could have also dealt into the first round with the second and the third (and admittedly other things) and moved ahead of Green Bay for Rodgers if neither trade had been made.

Now that would of been nice. A rb and a qb in the same draft just like the Chargers did with Brees and Tomlinson. To bad be we traded our picks away like playing cards. I dont think that will ever happen again with Saban at the helm.

Let's just bring this up to drive home the Gordon point:

R. Williams 6 39 0 13
T. Minor 2 10 0 9
S. Morris 3 10 0 4
L. Gordon 2 1 0 2

One of these players is not like the others. One of these players just doesn't belong.

Don't forget Gordon's dropped pass and fumble!

I wish you guys would stop complaining about Gordon. Youre killing his trade value. :)

You're right. If we keep this up, we might not get the cart with the Mule.

I really don't have much to add to all the thoughts on this, but I want to talley my vote in the Feeley and Gordon suck column! Wanny, curse the day you and Spielman came to the Phins. It's going to take years to recover from the decimation you cast upon us!
