Would you still consider Ross to be a shrewd businessman?

Donald Trump's FATHER, not his uncle seeded him with a helluva lot bigger empire than the help getting started which Ross's uncle may have assisted in...... also in RE.

And I believe Ross has managed to stay not only solvent but profitable, gotten into new areas of manufacturing and distribution including NFL-related, managed to endow the fine Univ of Michigan School of Business.... and that's all while Trump declared 2 bankruptcies. But of course just because I'm not wearing hater-filtered glasses , what do I know.

Since everyone is in Ross defense mode, I want to compile a list.

What are all the GOOD things Ross has done for this franchise since taking over?

Then, lets compare it to a list of all the BAD things Ross has done for this franchise since taking over...

Good....... Blocked Orton deal

I don't think you guys understand the repercussions of this. Agents are taking notice of the way Ross handles business.

When Ross makes statements like "I won't be outbid!" and backs it up by offering insane contracts to guys probably not worthy of it, he is opening himself to future leverage plays by coaches and players. Agents will start using the Dolphins to get more cash elsewhere or to fleece Ross in negotiations. Ross is earning a poor reputation in this league which will make our chances at success much more difficult.

Hopefully those agents are stupid enough to believe that Ross handle every negotiation the same way and puts the same value on Mularkey as he does Fisher. He won't be outbid for Fisher. That doesn't mean he wouldn't shrug his shoulders and tell another candidate to take a flying leap.

So when you speculate, it's fact. When others do it, it's speculation.

I never said anything was fact, but when there is smoke there is fire. We have seen the numbers regarding this negotiation from much more reputable sources than Armando Salguero.

So if Fisher doesn't do that what's going to be YOUR excuse for talking out of your butt?

Heck, even if he does sign with Indy that might just be the best thing for us.

Which top flight candidates have we lost out on so far?

Even if he does signs here it is still a bad hire! Unfortunately for us the HC crop like the QB crop is sparce this year.

i mean people can argue all they want - its a known FACT in business circles that you don't show your hand or offer too much too early. ESP. if there is a chance you are simply being leveraged - for all we know, it is very possible Fisher WENT INTO THIS using miami for leverage, b/c he was aware of how ross was from harbaugh. NOW, he can be used again since he showed his hand like this.

this fisher thing is already looking like the Rams are more respectable and calm. Ross looks like an ancy kid with his first paycheck - spending it on the first thing he sees.

just my opinion, but most business people would agree im sure.

I dont agree with this at all. You can throw money at the tangible, but when you are talking about the things we are asking Fisher to do, it isnt about money - its about our front office, talent, facilities, location, control, ect. This isnt a situation where you "show your hand" or back up a truck load of cash to Fishers money bin to get him to sign. If this were simply about money, Fisher would have made his decision long ago. As seen in the Harbaugh fiasco, its about what franchise is a good fit for the coach, not how much money you have. Besides, if you dont know exactly what Ross has offered Fisher, you arent qualified to judge him on that.

I still havent seen a list of bad things he's done. He publicy went after Harbaugh, but I dont balme him for going after him. Other than that, what are all these bad thing that he's done??

Ross knows who he wants and he aggressively went after him. In the meantime the Dolphins have interviewed a lot of other candidates.

What else can Ross do?

Ross can't force Fisher to make up his mind. If Ross can't get his guy then he'll go after his second choice but he's not going to pre-maturely pull the trigger to please impatient fans.

It's been a week and fans here are acting like it's been months.

So you don't know anything for a fact, then. That's all I wanted to hear you say. Not Ross's family background, and how much he may or may not have been helped out by his uncle, not his business dealings (Most of which are history and have proven to be good deals, as he's retained his wealth through one of the worst times to be in real estate in history) and really, no business transaction.

Where there's smoke there's fire, unless the smoke are things that are positive about Ross.

Some people would say retaining Parcells....Even though at the time nearly everyone was crapping on themselves because they thought he was going to make Parcells bail...Which would've been the best thing in retrospect.

B list celeb owners.....Like the Estephans...Who are uncommonly successful businesspeople...The Williams sisters who are champions in their chosen professions, and damn good businesspeople themselves...JLo/Antony....Again, wildly successful at what they do... I've never seen anything bad about this...

The orange carpet....It's carpet. What's wrong with Carpet in team colors? The only reason my house isn't in team colors is my wife wouldn't let me.

Multiple stadium naming deals......Even though that brings in revenue....

*Shrugs* I don't see he's done anything more than be an owner trying to pursue every possible angle to make the team better.
