How did it hurt the Dolphins giving Sparano a new contract ? Is that a serious question ?

Sparano still got fired, and smoothing things over with Tony while removing the 'lame duck' tag hurt things how? It's his money. Ross spending a bit of his money to try to mend a damaged situation doesn't hurt the team, it hurts Steve Ross's pocketbook.

His mistake there was keeping Tony, but I understand why he did it, with the lockout in place at that time.

We have more natioanlly televised Sunday/Monday night games than we had before, which is a good thing, especially for fans. We never had a competitive advantage with the heat since Nick Saban built the indoor air-conditioned practice bubble, which we practice in almost exclusively leading up to the season. yes, AIR CONDITIONED for our players.

I don't know, but I think it's more reasonable for a Dolphins fan to approve of Ross than it is for a 'Dolphins fan' to declare that he's done with the team for good because of the RUMOR that Ross made a big offer to Fisher.

**agreed to promote the former worst HC in the NFC and then kept him 2 years too long,

**permitted a little Napoleanic douche bully to fritter away his money on tents and league leading number of assistants while enabling him to run roughshod over him

**bequeathed us the ignomy of a 1-15 Cam Cameron "What Me Worry?" season, and of course,

**Backed up the Brinks Truck for a rancid Tuna and then ensured he gets paid a kings ransom for golfing on weekends up in Jupiter.

I'd say, in consideration of what we've endured as fans, by his intent, no matter how sloppily carried out by a newbie owner, Ross has done enough to more than retain the Honeymoon status for at least 1 or 2 more seasons!

Wayne Huizenga made terrible business decisions, but he was precieved as a good owner because he said the right things when he stood at the podium. If people want to bash an owner, bash Wayne.

Then, lets compare it to a list of all the BAD things Ross has done for this franchise since taking over...

Bad..... That stupid round table presser! They should have extended Sparano and moved on. Instead Ross puts on a big song and dance! Sat there spewing lie after lie treating the media, and fans like were are idiots. Looking back now at Sparanos body language and demeanor you could tell then the season was a loss. Roflmao! I told Jim he wasn't ready for the NFL and go back to college.

It was going to be a wasted year with anyone but Harbaugh.

Should the search have started earlier? Perhaps. Hell, if you want to go that route, he should've
told Parcells and Sparano to GTFO when he bought the team.

He went after Harbaugh, and didn't get him. Oh well. Not every attempt you have at a thing in life
works out. What he gave Sparano was the cost of what he tried, which I'm sure he took into account.

Regardless, even if you take everything he's done with the Dolphins into account, and assume he's been
a failure his track record still proves he's shrewd. You can't be the 117th richest person in America without being that.
Why don't you do some research on all his deals? He's a very successful guy, no matter what you think.

I wouldn't mind my business savvy being questioned if I was a multi-billionaire who owns a sports franchise, has a business school named after him (obviously because of a donation, but whatever) and flies around in a private jet.

When you're worth over $3 billion, you're doing something right. You can only get "lucky" so much before it's just straight up experience providing the wealth.

And with that said, Stephen Ross lacks the experience as an *owner*. But he doesn't lack the experience as a *businessman*.

I must say...I love you Vaark...people dont want to drump on Wayne because we won when he was the owner...But Wayne bailed when he started to witness the ship sinking....Ross is trying to fix some of Waynes mess...NO ONE on this board or any were know exactly what the offers on the table are, unless your name is Jeff Fisher, Stephen Ross, and Kroenke...If Jeff goes to STL, INDY, OAK or Canda for that fact, Ross did what he could to get the guy he thought would be the best fit...
