If Moore was in from the start....

He was not at fault for the one that was in Parker's hands, but the one where Parker fell, it would have been behind him. Not a good throw there. That one is on him. I think it's intercepted even if Parker stays on his feet.
That’s how I saw it too.

Matt Moore played really well when he came on to get us back in the game but I don't think you can say if he started we would have won easily. He seems to thrive on some adversity and does well coming into a game when the team is not playing well. However, he seems to struggle in some games when he's the starter, eg that awful stinker in Baltimore.

Went back four years to the last time this team was looking at win and you're in scenarios and versus the same two divisional opponents to boot.

Yes Moore was awful in that Baltimore game along with the rest of the team. We also lost 38-6 against them with Tannehill last year. Enough with excuses about that particular game though it's just so silly to let he Baltimore game tell the story with Moore when pretty much two back-to-back shutouts, along with a third consecutive completely dreadful performance against the Titans, tell the story with Cutler. Especially since Cutler really doesn't have any impressive starts to counter those, while we can look at games Moore started on the road with playoffs on the line as what he can do with this team.

IDK - this might be overblown. He got two division wins at the end of the year when he was the starter. He threatens the entire field whereas Jay does not. That alone should be enough to warrant making a change.

Well Moore is a million times better than a lot of developmental QB's will ever be. Just look at Hundley in GB, where QB's were fairly plug and play. Look at Savage in Houston, who finally had a good game after how many tries? He'll go back to being a bottom feeder next week.

I've watched plenty of QB's in this league and seen a lot of non-franchise guys go 9-7, 10-6, even 11-5, and not always on great teams. Just on the Dolphins we've seen Fiedler, Frerotte, and Pennington have winning seasons. If you have a QB who shows up to fight and has the ability to make plays (and how anybody could watch Moore over the last two years and see the way he can repeatedly hit receivers in stride better than any Dolphins QB in the last 17 years could think he doesn't make plays is beyond me) you can be competitive. You're going to run into some teams like Baltimore that are gonna give you a hard time (though it does bear mentioning that Tannehill lost 38-6 to Baltimore while Moore lost 40-0) but a guy who mans up to makes plays can have a successful season and motivate his teammates to elevate as well.

My point is we are short sighted with RT and Moore. Since we can't be original, we should at least follow the Patriot's model: Draft a developmental guy, develop him and, if not needed, trade him. But at least you have options. As it stands, we have no options except blow up our salary cap to get an average QB who can't get us much more than Moore. If we had a QB 3 with potential, we could have saved $10M. It has value. And every now and again, you might find lightning (Brady).

But if you don't invest in the philosophy, you have no options. And will spend dearly when needed.

We can't draft like the Patriots though. It's just not gonna happen. The Patriots are generally so well stocked with good caliber talent, being good at drafting, having players want to take discounts to play for them, and ripping off teams for talent they can't figure out, that their draft picks are pretty much a luxury. Even still, the Patriots have taken a lot of swipes at QB's, and even though they eventually got Garoppollo, they also got guys like Mallett (sucks), Brissett (not starter material despite starting for the desperate Colts) and guys like Kevin Connelly. Like most teams, it took a lot of picks for them to find a decent QB, but most teams couldn't afford to be wasting draft picks every year on QB's when they actually need to draft to give the QB they already have a chance to play, since they can't block, catch, or run well enough to even really evaluate him.

It's just funny that we're so obsessed with getting these developmental QB's on this board when this season has shown just how many of these developmental QB's are flat out garbage. We were spoiled when guys like Russell Wilson, Dak Prescott, and Kirk Cousins emerged fro the middle rounds, we've forgotten just how many guys are like Brent Hundley, Tom Savage, or Conner Cook, or Nathan Peterman.

Give me a top 5 pick instead of meaningless wins.
And then what?
Honestly I am as sick and tired of people saying we need a top 5 pick as I am watching the Dolphins stumble around.
A top 5 pick doesn't guarantee us ****. We had 3 top 5 picks in the last 11 or so years and we got crap out of it.

The art of forming a winning franchise does not depend on one lousy pick. It depends on hitting on your picks in the later rounds as well and complement the team in free agency.

This "we must suck for a high draft pick" is the cheesiest way of explaining that you root for losses.

But if we suck enough for a high draft pick, it might get Ross to clean house completely and try again. These guys aren't cutting it.

We are sucking for the last 15 years. we had top 5 picks, top 10 picks. There will be no cleaning house. None of our owners ever cleaned house. It won't change. It's a pipe dream.

"If Moore was in from the start....",

The result would have been the same, IDK what kind of defense Gase is running, but it is without a doubt the worst thing I have ever seen. It's not just a lack of talent, they have no idea what in the world is going on. I saw it up close and personal. I think when you have someone as stiff and lacking vision as Mr Alonso playing Mike, and he was last Monday at times, you are doomed. The offense, what do you expect, Ajayi was shown the door, I mean literally shown the door, your leading rusher, I dare say a third of your offense, is shown the door, this decision was based on ego, nothing more nothing less. If I only had an inside source, I would bet $1000.00 of Vaarks money that this came about because Ajayi was complaining about carries, and the fact that Cutler is just plain horrible. If the concept was to trade him, they should have traded him off of his great year last year, not in the middle of this year. Matt Moore would have made more sense, but would not have made a win difference, not without Ajayi.

When good teams have time to game plan against Matt Moore, we have seen consistent results. Tampa isn't a good team.
the same bs excuse to defend punk ass cutler, matt got us to the playoffs last year which is more than Thill can say

Kinda crappy using that game against him. Short week (Thursday Night game) against a team which beat the crap out of us the year before. But whatever rocks your boat.
Okay lets go back to last year. NE, Pittsburgh and had the ball removed from his hands in OT at Buffalo. He’s not starting caliber.

It probably would have been different. For one I cannot so much fault the D for the loss. We turned the ball over 4 ties in the first half and it is a miracle they only scored 20 on us. The D pretty much shut Tampa out in the second half (short of the FG at the end).

If we have more ball possession and don't turn the ball over in the first half it is a different game.
