2002 Ricky Williams Video Highlights...

Well I finally got around to making this video of 2002 Ricky Williams highlights..took me hours getting it from vhs to my pc...Although I wish the quality was better...it looked good on my pc before I uploaded it to youtube.
This was actually the first time I've ever used youtube.

Anyway it's a 5 part series of a lot of Ricky's 2002 runs and receptions...start with part 1...there all in the order of the games the Dolphins played in 2002 so you'll kinda get a feeling how the season went...I also have a probowl highlight video with Ricky and a bunch of Dolphins.

But Ricky was so amazing that year..in all my years watching football I never seen a RB dominate and take over a game like Ricky did that year...I've never seen a combination of massive speed, power and explosiveness..and his quick recognition of a hole and the quickness through it. And the amount of defenders he embarrassed..I've watched these videos many many times over the last 4 and a half years and I tell you the truth that there a defenders that actually pretend to be blocked in fear of being embarrassed on national tv and highlight reels...because Ricky always had a way of putting the hit on the defender...
You can tell by watching them how in the beginning he didn't have that much confidence in himself... but as each game passed he started to realize how awesome he really was and how he was like a man among boys....he kinda was like Neo in the matrix....the more he knew the truth the better he got....he started to realize how easily he could beat the defender to the corner...I swear I never seen a back with speed like that...he always seemed to make the DB's look like they were slow...
My favorite run was the one against KC when he ran over a DB in the hole than Ricky's heel hit the guy in the helmet as he was desperately trying to tackle him and then ran down the sideline and straightarmed this guy and lifted him straight off the ground.
Well here's the link..hope it works..

He was great that year but was I the only who got a little depressed while watching that.

dude ricky was a beast that year. he was unstoppable...well pornstasche was the only guy who could have stopped him and he did. well pornstasche and fiedler throwing picks every single game basically causing the phins to be behind and forget about the run. I won't ever forget the last game when we were in new england and we had the lead deep in our side of the field and instead of running the ball pornstasche decided to throw the ball three times in a row causing a 3 and out and a pats win...freakin bs!

A true beast thanks for the video i sure hope we keep him.

Ricky was a force in '02.
But that was 6 years ago. Ricky will never regain that form, and even if he did you still have to deal with the possibility that he will flake out/get banned. If you are praying to the Running Back Gods to smile upon the Dolphins, you would probably be much better served to pray that Ronnie Brown can stay healthy or that the Phins hit upon a diamond in the rough in this year's draft.
Its too bad Ricky only lasted a few carries this season...if he had shown something we might have been able to get something for him in a trade. IMO thats the only way Ricky could help the Phins.

Ricky's hairstyle would have no impact on his running ability or trade value so I'm all for Ricky wearing his hair in any way he wants.

edit: all that said, for nostalgia's sake those are great video clips. Good Job.

Ricky's hairstlye has everthing to do with not giving the nfl the TRUE record of his non compliance in regards to smoking hemp... jmo

he was such a fun player to watch. He was always moving forward and was always that one play away from breaking out that big gain.

Thanks Cam

one of the best things Saban did as a coach was bringing him back. Of course Ricky messed it up again.... but a good move by Saban. that and the bubble.

in response to phinfan_1's post...i agree with every single word. i really do believe that he has the skills to be one of the best backs in the history of the nfl. power, speed, vision, hands, and he runs aggressive! the year that he lead the nfl in rushing was amazing. even though the phins folded at the end, he gave us all something that i think most of us have never seen from this franchise. i really dont know why people hate on ricky. he is such a humble, soft spoken guy, and in this day and age of athletes being obnoxious, selfish and superficial, ricky is a breath of fresh air.

I don't think Ricky will be cut.

I don't think he will be traded for a late round draft pick. The value vs. cap vs. talent just says that would be dumb. Miami has plenty of talent at running backs. So if he stumbles with weed again...we have the depth.

There is always the chance of him playing at a VERY HIGH LEVEL again in the NFL. His body has not been abused to bad the last few years. Ricky could still easily be a 1,000 yard back. The question is does he want to be a 1500+ yard back.

I think the BIG TUNA will give Ricky a FAIR chance at the starting position. Ronnie Brown will need 2 full seasons before his injury is 100%. Then we have to pray that he has faith in his legs to sustain a big impact. It is true that he has yet to finish a full 16 game season. It is also true that RB's should not be trying to make open field tackles on INT's. I think Ronnie will come back just fine and after 2 seasons will be ready for a big work load again. The problem is that during that time Ricky will get a chance to bring his career back from the dead. That kind of motivation can lift the wills of men. If he stays clean and logs more than 1,300 yards the next couple of years great for Miami. If he does not...get ready BB (Brown & Booker).

Keep in mind that Ricky is not thug, bad character guy, or some guy that does not deserve to be in the NFL. He is a humble, down to earth, great athlete that likes to smoke pot and run over people in pads. Chances are your parents, friends & teachers have smoked it at some point in their lives. I do not mean everybody just about 65% of people that had the chance. Hell check on your parents right now...where there is smoke there is fire. :foundout:

I would rather everyone in the world smoke some bud right now and drive to the other side of their city...than ONE PERSON drink some alcohol and drive to the end of their driveway. If they do...watch out pets, joggers, children, insects, LARGE EXPLOSIVE CONTAINERS... here comes Johnny with a little bit to much Walker in him.

The Big Tuna will give him a chance...not much risk only the chance of great things.

Yeah I am a Ricky Williams fan...I am also a Ronnie Brown fan.

Awesome post, brought back so many great memories!!!I love Ricky and always will, but i think we have a very bright future with Ronnie in the back field!!!

Fantastic post! great videos... if he is able to come back at half that ability, he'll be able to contribute...

Wow... it makes me sad seeing the scores of those games... and then I look at this year.... I can't wait till we get back to that.

CC got robbed in the end zone by the ref in the Jets game on the second copy. I remember that call & it still makes me mad. Also that was the game we blew a huge lead in the 4th quarter were Arnold predicted the come back! A horrible night that was!!

Now i understand why you love R. Williams. but really there is one problem, its 2008 now. If R. Williams can play like that this year. R. Brown can back RW up.
