Problem is that some of these previous "top producers" are not top producers. Manning is physically unable anymore and Cutler is a never was. I am in business (retail), and I've seen a lot of new general managers fail when they assemble a team of guys they know and have worked with and underrate the staff they already have in place and don't really give them a shot or are unable to get the best out of them.
I actually can fault the decision with Cutler and did from the get go. We needed another QB but he brought in the one guy who would only come in if he were paid a high amount and would have to be the uncontested starter. If situations were different and Cutler wasn't retired and willing to come in and compete, great. It makes sense. But giving him a starting job when you already had a guy who could perform really backup him into a corner that hopefully he can be smart about if Moore plays well. And heck, even if Moore only musters 10 points on a short week, that 3 more than Cutler got in two weeks.
Umm. . You're writing as if we had a group of qb's to choose from lol
The only one that made sense was Cutler.. if you don't see that, I can't help you.
Ps. Retail sales and a sales team are two totally different animals.
