Antonio Smith tore off Incognito's helmet and swung it at him

I think u make a good point about real and fake arrests but there was little indication that Johnson was falling that far on depth chart or wasn't making team at that point.

The talk was that if he wasn't a starter(one of the top two) that they were likely going to cut him. Sort of like what happened with Richard Marshall.

Richie Incognito-itis cost Houston DE Antonio Smith nearly $400,000 ($21,000 in fines last yr + 1 gm suspension this yr - 1/16 of $6M base

LOL@ Cogs!!

Not trying to make myself feel better about anything. Obviously you are with your seperating of "real arrests" and "fake arrests".

Let me ask you, why do you consider Chad Johnson as a "real arrest" for the Dolphins? He was already on the outs with the team before the arrest and was falling down on the depth chart, he likely wasn't going to make the final roster anyways. Can I count that as a "fake arrest" under the system you created?

he actually played in a game for you(preseason).

I thought rough, tough Joe Philbin was sending a message by cutting him?

Ok, I understand now, a player arrest is only "real" once that player participates in a game. Doesn't have to be a regular season game, junc is also accepting preseason games. Gotcha. Thankfully for the Jets some of those players that were arrested get to fall in the "fake arrest" category because they got released before a regular season or preseason game. The difference between a classy organization like the Jets and a prison yard like the Dolphins is that the Jets got rid of them before they ever played in a preseason game. Man if only Chad Johnson didn't drop that one ball in preseason, he could have been considered a "fake arrest".

those 2 players weren't really on the team, they were training camp fodder, I don't gte why this is a difficult concept. Neother guy was expected to make the team, they may not even have made it to camp. It was more a mini camp look.

If those guys could have played the jets would have kept them(see Mike Goodson) just like if Chad Johnson could still play Miami would have kept him.

I just asked my nephew who's in law enforcement. He say's, "An arrest is an arrest, no matter how they want to spin it." If you do something to get arrested, it's still an arrest.

Anyone see Skip Bayles just try and spin this to defend Smith then not 5 mins later take the complete opposite stance against dempst? A baseball is a hard lethal projectile according to Bayles, but a helmet isn't because Smith was just firing a shot across the bow!

Answer me this. Where those players under contract with the New York Jets at the time of their arrest and did they count towards the 90 man roster?

Whether you're on a corner whacking off or you steal a bagga viagra? It's still a crime. When you do a crime, you do the time!!! Simple as that!!!

I see there's another Junc major derail going on...LOL!

Yep but they had as good a chance to make the team as you or I.

Maybe you guys DO have a chance, hell Sanchez looks like he'll make it... AGAIN!

I ask my question again as we got off track. If he appeals and plays in a preseason game while under appeal, and he loses the appeal, does he then have to miss two regular season games?
