Using this rationale, we should bring back Ireland because all of Ireland's drafts were the fault of one scout.

Which Finheaven troll created this account?

He has been here since 2011 which is a lot longer then you no need to insult him because he is echoing what is being said in Tampa right now! I can't wait to hear Ian Beckles tomorrow morning and Steve Duemig tomorrow afternoon!

Well you guys sure used it when you blamed Parcells or meatball for Ireland's bust!

You should keep going: 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Hickey became your personal director in 2011. While the final authority was lying with the GM I would think that Hickey had a little bit more influence from that moment on.

I believe you got 7 starters out of 13 players drafted from 2012 and 2013.

And just because you are a Bucs fan doesn't mean that you know the influence Hickey had or didn't have. If you would hire Gaines I would never tell Bucs fans that they made a good or bad choice since nobody really knows how much influence Gaines on Ireland's decisions had or didn't have. Hiring a GM from below a GM position is always risky. It may pay off, it may not pay off.

The only time I would have a favorite is if the GM candidate is endorsed by a good GM who had a long working history with the GM candidate (i.e. Ron Wolf >>> Ted Thompson).

Good honesty. All we can hope is now that Hickey makes his own decisions, he could prove better. Or he sucks and we clean house in a year.

Except it's unlikely Ross will clear house in a year. The likely scenario is that if we have a bad year, Philbin will either be let go or given one more year to turn it around, but Hickey will remain. Then we'll hire a new coach and go a couple of bad years and Hickey will get fired but the new coach will remain. And we'll keep leapfrogging like that until Ross sells the team to a competent owner.

Doug Martin and L Davide weren't drafted by TB?? Clearly you are a big fan - if you leave out those two selected in what 2012?

This flies in the face of my theory that no fans have any idea how good any of these guys are, anyway. We know not getting your first or second or maybe even third choice is very bad, but I'm surprised people knew about Hickey in Tampa. No one here knew a thing about Gaine, for example. I bet most of us didn't even know he worked here.

It doesn't even look like Tampa's draft in 2012.
This one is exactly like on Bucs website:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tampa_Bay_Buccaneers_draft_history#2012_Draft

Same with 2011:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tampa_Bay_Buccaneers_draft_history#2011_Draft

So here comes that big Bucs fan and can't even post the right drafts 2 years back.

Edit: Ahhhhh. I see now. He posted the 2010 draft as 2011 and 2011 as 2012. Of course. That is exactly the first year where Hickey may have had a little bit more influence.

Crap, my mistake. pasted 2010's draft twice:

2012:

1 7 7 Mark Barron Safety Alabama
1 31 31 Doug Martin Running Back Boise State
2 26 58 Lavonte David Linebacker Nebraska
5 5 140 Najee Goode Linebacker West Virginia
6 4 174 Keith Tandy Cornerback West Virginia
7 5 212 Michael Smith Running Back Utah State
7 26 233 Drake Dunsmore Tight End Northwestern

There we go fellas. my bad :D

I was just joshing.

Big deals being made of unknowns and I understand it and ive partaken. Honestly, in a sport where a failed head coach and a 5th round pick can go down in history as HOFers, what are we so certain about?

The public drama is the bummer.

Hickey finds a picky with a razor for a Lazor and this time next year we're swimin in Ross' Philbin.
