I say just starters on offense and defense, and no rookies from this year. Just keep it within the NFL. That is just my thought, so the starter of this thread can do whatever.

Here is a part of a message I sent to Fish-Head about this draft, just to temper peoples expectations

Sorry to rain on the parade but I highly doubt this draft goes much farther then the 2nd round, if that. I participated in a mock draft on here and just the plain challenge of getting everyone on the site at a time to make picks is nearly impossible. Because Finheaven is truly international, time differences are enormous. If we literally played out a whole draft it would take months. I would be in it for the haul, but I doubt others would.
I think many are just interested in the "keeper situation" and just which players would still be available and who would be the key picks.
I would love for it to field a starting roster, but I doubt it will. Lets cross that bridge when we come to it. If its going well, more rules will have to be implemented.

So that is my honest opinion of what is going to happen. I say our #1 priority is filling up all the teams. We can double down if we need to.

That is a real good idea. I vote double down on the picks AFTER the first 2 rounds. I'm in it for the long haul. The offseason is long and we've all got some time to kill. Lets do it. I also vote 22 starters on offense and defense, plus 3 special teamers (Kicker, punter, returner). It sounds like we WON'T be including rookies. Okay.
 
I'm in for it too. Like I said before, I can take more than one team to. Let's just get a feel for if anyone actually wants to do something like this, and maybe it will take off. Maybe it won't and it will just be a handful of guys, but that would still be fun.

It will be hard not to think of strictly "fantasy" stats, and actually build a team like you were a real GM. I love fantasy football, and am looking foward to what transpires out of all this. Great idea Jim!

I picked the Ravens...
Ed Reed-Getting a little up there in age, but he is a straight playmaker, and would anybody really argue against keeping him?
Haloti Ngata-A true force in the middle, and so young still. Is more versatile than people think, or would think looking at him.
Joe Flacco-The franchise QB that Baltimore has dreamed of with the huge arm. They finally got it right with this kid...He doesn't get rattled.

Ray Lewis would have been obvious...5 years ago. There are other playmakers on D to, but I went with the 2 best IMO. None of their 3 running backs are anything better than what I could get later on.
 
On a side note, when everyone picks their keepers and we get to draft, can we randomize the order? I probably would have picked a team that was drafting higher if I would have known a.)we were actually going to do this and b.)it was the order of this year's draft. Let's do it random.

Knowing my luck when we do it like that the Ravens will pick lower than my already 26.

I'm interested in joining but I'm not quite clear on what the object is.
Please elaborate on the premise.
 
first, pick a team that is not already chosen. after you have selected the team, choose three "franchise players" to keep on the team. the rest of the players will go into a free agent pool from which the participants will draft to fill out the rest of the teams.
