For those who don't like the 1st pick, why?

He plays very poorly against the run. I don't think he will ever be an adequate defender against the run, and therefor be best suited as a third down pass rush specialist. He is already below average athletically for a pass rushing DE. If he bulks up, he could lose his pass rush ability. When I see him play, I see a third round or later project. I want my first round picks to be safe, full time starters. Harris to me is the opposite. I hope I am wrong, but I don't think I am.

Also, the value was there to trade down. The talent different between 20 and 70 was minimal. The value in the draft was in that range, and we should have done what we could have (within reason) to pick as many times as possible in that range.

Idk What you guys see but I see a guy with elite pass rushing moves. Advanced for a guy just out of college. High motor and work ethic. I loved his tape. People soured on him after the combine but the combine isn't what makes a career. He will be a high sack guy

Are you watching entire games, or just the highlight reel? Watch several entire games if you haven't already.

The reason I bring up Coples, I never liked him coming out of UNC despite all the hype by the talking heads and where they had him projected.

There are threads in the draft forum for the 2012 draft where I went round and round trying to tell people that Malik Jackson was a similar profile but better player, and teams could get him anywhere outside the 1st round they wanted to.

I don't think there's any doubt who was wrong and who was right.

At what point is it fair to really come down on our scouting department? I mean we don't have the inside information of what they feed to Grier (with himself who has the scouting background) and if he or Mike overrules but this isin't a new trend.

A project that has a low ceiling based on physical limitations or a day one starter that fills our highest position of need? Seems kinda basic who they should have drafted.
