Interesting. :ponder: What kind of depth do the Giants have at TE?

Would the Phins really be willing to go with Miller, Gillislee, and Thigpen at RB if the Giants made a good offer? They are now as desperate for a RB as we are a TE.

If we can get anything for Daniel Thomas - even a 7th rd draft pick - we should take it.

Thomas is more valuable than that to us. He is better than most give him credit for.

Also, the Giants are screwed right now. We should keep Thomas unless we can squeeze them hard.

I disagree. As I've said many times, Daniel Thomas is a below average running back. He doesn't have breakaway speed. He's not a power back. He doesn't punish defenses. Defenses punish him. We could pick up a random free agent running back who is currently bagging groceries at a supermarket, plug him in, and he'd do the exact same thing as Daniel Thomas: average 3.5 yds/carry, fumble the ball, and get hurt.

Daniel Thomas is a below average running back, who is riding his draft status. If we can get something, anything for him in a trade, we should take it.

I'd be surprised if they don't call Mike Turner. May limit Daniel Thomas's trade value.

As I scan the Giants depth chart, I do not see a player flash out to me that could be an even exchange. I was looking at a swing OT, TE, DB...not much. Bear Pascoe? meh.

We need Thomas as a result of Gillislee and Gray looking mediocre at best

Also Enduro. That dude has sources everywhere and his predictions have proven to be consistently accurate.

Interesting....I really don't see how we can afford to get rid of Thomas though. He may not be that great but we are pretty thin at RB

I'm not going to recite his stats over the last 5 years if you think he brings less to the table than buying Daniel Thomas high I don't know what to tell you.

Do it. Even if Thomas has stepped up his game he's concussion proned and the next one could be game over for him.

Unless they have a name that we have a conviction on we keep Thomas. He's been in the system a long time an I'm concerned about Millers' durability.

Maybe. Pascoe is more of a blocker. However, I am concerned about the TE position as it currently stands.

I am kind of with you. Thomas is more valuable to this team than people want to give him credit for.

I like the idea of using Thigpen in the slot and maybe keeping Gray as the goalline back. Gills showed he has a little bit of versatility tonight . . . it's doable, what do you think Thomas would fetch draft pick wise? 3rd? 4th?

I can't believe all the people with this sudden love for Thomas. I think if we get a 5th round pick we take it and run far, far away.

I would trade Thomas for a starting TE, or OG, OT. Anything less than that we should keep him.

Andre Brown broke his leg tonight in preseason action. No comment on the validity of Big Moe's sources, though. :)

Gray and Gillislee as our 2nd back? Dear lord no, can we stop trading out of being competitive and stacked for just one season? DT ain't great, but he's better than the camp fodder. We don't have the RB depth for this move.

It never hurts to listen, to find out how interested they are.

Who here would seriously turn down a 3rd round pick for Thomas?

The Fins would survive with a backfield of Miller, Gillislee, Gray.

I would seriously turn that down. The idea isn't to survive; we want to be competitive. If Miller went down, which seems like a realistic possibility for a guy who hasn't carried a full load in the NFL, we would be finished. Also, Daniel Thomas is a decent blocking back.
If you watched Gillislee fall every time someone breathed on him tonight, and Gray pick up one yard per carry, you wouldn't be as eager to make a trade for anything lower than a 2nd round pick (or serviceable player). New York is desperate to make a move, not us. We should try to get real value (what did we give up for Lamar Gordon, a second?)

This makes ZERO sense. The giants could throw a rock at the mall and find a better RB than Thomas. No way they are calling about a trade for him. Teams normally try and get better not trade for someone that will be on the street next year this time. Call the Jags about Toddman, that kid can play and is ten times the player DT is.

I guess next the donkeys are gonna call about a trade for Applesauce since they lost Von Miller for 6 games.

I'm calling BS on this one.
