Harris will be to the DL what James was to the OL: pure MEH.

Solomon Thomas is a fantastic prospect.. truth. So Lynch gambles that Foster will be there at the end of the 1st round when he considered him 2??. Wow . I honestly think you don't actually believe that nonsense. I can handle that some don't like the pick as much as others, but really? Does anybody believe Lynch saw that big a drop for Foster ?. Unless Lynch had the same info others did that something raised some major red flags

John Lynch said that if the Bears had taken Solomon Thomas at #2 after they traded picks, they were prepared to take Foster at #3.

The 49ers won the draft. I think there are some valid concerns about Foster's medical and then his bizarre behavior at the Combine, but ultimately, he was a great football player in college and will almost certainly be a good football player in the pros.

You'll be talking Out of your bunghole after the first time this dude paste Brady you and that Coke head

You guys all hating on me for my perspective on this -- time will tell.

it's pretty clear to me that the same scouts are influencing Miami's roster again.

Miami didn't get a complete player at point of need.

Miami didn't get BPA.

Miami didn't get a high level athlete with great upside.

Miami got a fairly weak, average athlete with decent first step, below average intellectual ability to adjust to scheme, below average strength who runs like a 290 guy even tho he's 250.

I could care less if the FO cheered the selection. Change the scouts and Miami might actually cheer for impact playmakers who will change Miami's D into a force, and make Miami strong up the middle on both sides of the ball for the first time in years.

Stealing Slimm's take from another thread.

Slimm is 100 percent right on this.

For me it has nothing to do with his size. Carl Lawson or Jordan Willis or Trey Hendrickson are all about the same size. There's nothing wrong with being 6'3", 253. The problem is I think at least 2 out of the 3 I just mentioned are better players. I would've taken Tre'Davious White or Reuben Foster and preferred a kid like Trey Hendrickson at #54. Harris is fine if you take him at #54. I don't like it at #22.

There's a lot of myths going on surrounding Charles Harris. "He produced in the SEC that can't be ignored"....

First of all, the production isn't that good. Secondly, let's not pretend like he was out there beating Laremy Tunsil or Cam Robinson or Jake Matthews for sacks in the SEC. Half his sacks came in one game vs. Georgia who was starting a graduate transfer from Rhode Island by the name of Tyler Catalina at left tackle in 2016, who's well on his way to earning an honest paycheck selling shoes. He finally lost that starting LT job for UGA's bowl game against TCU.

Will Holder for Vanderbilt isn't even on my board at all. That's how much I think of him as a prospect. Dan Skipper has a UDFA grade from me. He's 6'10", too tall, can't bend, slow footed, and probably won't even make a roster in the NFL. This is the caliber of player Charles Harris faced in the SEC. He never faced anything close to the best.

The best sack Harris ever had was the spin move that worked on David Sharpe of Florida. He's a guard or backup swing tackle at best at the next level.

Liability vs the run, doesn't understand how to use his hands, doesn't disengage to get off blocks, production was adequate but not strong, never produced against elite SEC competition, pedestrian athlete for a situational/developmental pass rusher. The kid was a late 2nd round talent.

Other myths...."He's fun to watch". No, Reuben Foster is fun to watch.

"Just wait until he's pasting Tom Brady you'll change your negative opinions".... Tom Brady is going to make Charles Harris his bitch just like he's done every other player the Dolphins have had for the past 20 years. It's almost like some of the people saying things like this haven't watched any football or paid attention to what's going on since the late 90's.

"Harris has double digits sack potential"..... Well, he might have double digits sacks by the time his career is over. He's got a lot of work to do until then.

"All the draftniks Mayock, McShay, Riddick, Rang, CBS, etc., etc. all projected him to go anywhere from 10-20 range"..... Maybe so. Just as they were all also in lockstep when they projected guys like Dion Jordan or Quinton Coples to go 10-20 range too. What they didn't tell you was that they couldn't play. These talking heads are mostly in the business of trying to predict which players go where in mock drafts based off what they're hearing. Not actually trying to watch these kids and determine whether or no they can actually play. That's why you saw McShay and Kiper changing their mock drafts yesterday everytime the wind blew with misinformation or a new rumor of Trubisky going #1 overall to Cleveland.

Lastly, none of them watch as much college football as I do. I'm always confident with whatever my assessment is on players or prospects. I think Miami could've done much better last night.

Ive never been very high on Charles Harris. I can't help it Miami picked him. I dislike the pick no matter who picked him in the 1st round.

Honest assessment.

The same John Lynch who signed Earl Mitchell to 4 years 16 million after an underwhelming career with the Dolphins? Makes sense.

I'm here in Miami. It's all over the newspapers and local sports that the Dolphin brass are ecstatic! Charles Harris was the guy they've been targeting for a month. I guess we have no choice but to put some faith in the new Gace lead regime, or not. I personally look at Harris as one of the top 2 or 3 pass rushers in the country. We needed a pass rusher badly, they're hard to find. He'll be a sack specialist until he can be coached up to be on the field in running plays. I believe he has some ability at Sam LBer so that a thought. We still have plenty of needs on defense but luckily this is a deep draft so help should still be coming in the form of run stoppers and DBs and, of course, a guard.

A reminder guys that personal attacks will not be allowed. Say what you want about this pick or disagree with others but take the high road or your posts will be deleted.
