Cutting X IS a no-brainer.

We need to create cap space; he isn't a dependable player any longer, certainly not for what he receives in salary.

The NEW money would be 18.4 million dollars... no one on the planet thinks he deserves anywhere near that amount, so barring him taking a MASSIVE paycut, he's gone with a post June designation.

Please elaborate on the continued "Hoard" reference, I might've missed it earlier @Feverdream

We gave Hoard a new contract which made him the highest (or near the highest) paid CBs in the league. We later signed another FA CB at a higher rate and Hoard then held out and wouldn't honor his contract. Grier gave in. The worst thing he could have done. Hoard was playing well and we could have traded him at a high value. At his prime, he was a very good corner. But his ethics are lower than low. I wouldn't give him the sweat of my balls if he was dying of thirst in the desert.
