J. Martin Trade Idea

Force his hand how? He's not obligated to do anything. No GM is going give up a pick for a guy about to get cut unless they see him as an upgrade over what they have already. This isn't a schoolyard, the NFL is a business.

Well I was joking when i posted that but I guess it got a lost in the translation lol.

I've been wondering Martin's value as well. Unfortunately, I think a very low round draft pick (6th or 7th) might be about all the team could get. I think Martin might end up being a decent guard and it might be in the team's best interest to try to convince him to come back next year.

martin is avg he have started 70% game in nfl. that mean he can play in nfl just need right coach. right now I don't see none of dolphins ol good

As I was sitting at Golden Corral 2 hrs while letting my turkey & cranberries digest, I had the following idea.

Trade JM. Indy & The Niners are the most obvious partners but there is 1 more..... The Eagles.

Chip Kelly said he is collecting former P12 players i.e. M Barkley, Ertz, Foles, etc...

My suggestion: Martin for James Casey (TE).

p.s. It'd serve 'Joanna' right to get blasted by those Philly fans.

IF Miami could get a bag of chips for Martin, I would be ecstatic. Martin is going to have trouble finding another team after Miami....Maybe San Fran, because of charity from former coach to former player.

I'd trade him to Tennessee for Erica.

Beautiful woman that could probably pass block, and show more toughness then Martin ever could....Titans would never do it.

Let's face it after his mommy gets through suing the Dolphins and the rest of the NFL her little Johnny will never need to work another day again in his life which is what this is all about. Mommys little Johnny can then sit around his house and wet his pants every time he gets scared when he hears a ugly word and know he has enough money he can find some arm candy wife that will take care of him when his mommy is gone someday. So who are you kidding if you really believe J. Martin really wants to play in the NFL again, he says he does only because it helps his case in court but it is obvious he is going to blame the Dolphins for NFL career going down the drain. That boy is no dummy I keep telling everyone and AJ. Martin knew and wanted to walk away from the NFL the day he slammed his table tray down in the cafeteria and left the team. IMO there is a very, very good chance this entire episode was or org -restrated by both him and his mother beforehand.

What team has a really dumb GM? Well...guess we can't trade him to ourselves...

It will be interesting to see if Jim Harbaugh picks him up at the 49ers. Harbaugh knows JMart and also knows that he can play and had success with him at Stanford. He also had no problems with him in the locker room. In fact he was not fazed by a lots of intelligent players on his college team. I would not be surprised if San Francisco snapped up Martin for depth. After the Miami episode, it is highly unlikely that any harassment would be repeated.
Most on here see Martin as untouchable for any team. However, if he is taking his antidepressants, gets physically much stronger and really wants to play in the NFL, I'd expect that some team will give him a chance on a roster, initially for depth as a backup and see how he goes. His biggest negative would be the media attention that would probably go with him. Manti Te'o has succeeded in overcoming the media circus, but Tim Tebow has not.
If he doesn't really want to put the effort into improving his physical strength and doesn't display a passion to play the game, then his career is finished.

The golden corral sucks.......about some of the most unhealthy food you can have in there. As far as Martin, can't believe he has an Italian last name. It's insulting my Italian race.

Ozzy rules!!

Your really purchasing the koolaide that the Martin camp is selling? Your thread points out that Martin probably has a medical condition that needs to be treated and that Martin also attended Stanford University considered by many the Harvard of the west. If you consider that Martin also studied pre-med as a undergraduate at Stanford and his parents are wealthy, Harvard graduates who practice law that points out 3 very important facts to consider in this scenario.
1. Martin is very intelligent
2. Martin undergraduate degree in medicine would put him in touch with his medical condition.
3. Martin comes from a family of resources. His family is both very rich and intelligent.

If Martin has a medical condition then one would be led to believe that between his medical degree or his parents resources they would have have figured it out much sooner than just now.

This whole issue about Martin being bullied and racism is ironic.

1. Incognito infers that he is going have intercourse with his sister and Martin infers he is going to kill Incognitos entire family.
2. Incognito texts Martin using the N word but in reality Martin is not black because Martins father is white so we are not talking about racism here we are speaking more about using language and a word that should not be used regardless of the situation.

IMO This is about fame and money my friend. Martins family is about to make a very big name for themselves over this issue and pocket lots of money in the process. Consider that they are already very rich and intelligent then follow the bread crumbs.

...in reality Martin is not black because Martins father is white...

So tell me how that works.
You say Martin isn't black because his father is white. The same logic would imply that Martin isn't white because his mother is black (this position, btw, is the ignorant historical view that has existed in this country for a very long time and is still believed by far too many). So if he isn't white and he isn't black, what exactly are you saying he is?

Damn shame there isn't a Golden Corral in Miami proper. I make the drive to Homestead a few times per year. Lots of great stuff, including surprisingly good green beans. The pot roast is terrific.

I always get a kick out of message board posters who think they have to rip any of the buffet-type restaurants. A friend of mine used to test snobbishness like that all the time in Las Vegas. He got comps to any restaurant he wanted, at the major casinos. He'd call his wife and kids and tell them he was bringing them take home dishes from the fanciest joint in the hotel. They would rave about it at home. Only then would he laugh like hell and inform them that it came from the cheapest coffee shop at a dive casino.

Jonathan Martin will play in the NFL next season. Not exactly a tough call on that one. You're asking all 31 remaining teams to share the same biases and fear as posters here.
