According to mort, players amd owners are putting provisions together that if the cba is approved, the players will have to re certify as a union starting Friday. Facilities will be re opened and training camp will open next week. Owners are taking a dinner break and the players are having an 8pm conference call.

Espn.com top headline, on my phone so can't post link.

    The lockout is almost done!

Breaking news, the owners just passed the CBA. Now it is up to the players.

Good news. As soon as the players agree, I'm giving someone a hug. Doesn't matter who, just the first person I see. If the wife isn't home by then, I think some poor lady walking her dog outside is gonna get accosted...

The owners passed the CBA with a 31-0 vote. The Raiders for some reason refused to vote.

That's typical. Al Davis was probably stuck in the bathroom while they held the vote.

Doesn't sound like the lockout will be lifted tonight. Word is possibly sometime next week.

Goodell is now talking and he just announced some major news.

    1. If the players vote yes tonight, the doors open on Saturday.

    2. Free agency will start next Wednesday.

    3. Hall of Fame game has been cancelled.

The Hall of fame game itself is kind of useless, but it's still really awesome to see fans from nearly all the NFL teams in the stands, the general excitement around the country due to the fact football has begun...and to see all the inductees walk out on the field in those blazin gold jackets.

    :(

The doors would open on Saturday. Teams will apparently have three days (72 hours) to bring in their existing players, re-sign their free agents, sign rookies, etc.

Wednesday at midnight eastern would be the start of free agency and, presumably, most training camps.

Let's all remember though that this timeline only happens if the players also ratify the CBA tonight. That is not a slam dunk.

DeMaurice Smith seems like the kind of guy who would mess this up. But let's not be pessimistic. It's great that we're here.

Mort is reporting that D. Smith is ticked off about this move by the owners. Sounds like this thing is about to blow up and in a bad way.

Smith apparently sent the players an e-mail blasting the NFL and there proposal. Talk is that the players will NOT ratify the new CBA. Lockout remains on, and it might be on for awhile.

Owners just intentionally dicked the players. If this isn't obvious to you . . . you're not too bright.

The owners made a media move. They announced that THEY (the owners) agreed on this deal and made a big deal of announcing it without letting the other side (player reps, Smith, etc.) in on their ploy. And then, they said, "Well, now the players just have to agree on it."

So, most of the stupid fans will want to string the players up if they don't sign the deal. It's a political ploy. It's transparent.

 owner's are in "we'll see mode" what a load of crap. These players haven't even seen half of these terms and now they have to agree on it just because the owners did?
