Marvez: "Stephen Ross is a disgrace"

Just like that? You can't click heels together three times and the Dolphins would magically reappear Wizard of Oz style. God forbid the Dolphins ever do move out of Miami, they aren't coming back. Local support is so poor when the team is here, why would any "new" owner start an expansion team there? Also, who is to say the league is ever going to expend in the near future? If you are waiting for an expansion of the NFL, it could be decades before that happens.

If you love the Dolphins and want them to REMAIN in Miami, you better hope this $400 million renovation gets approved. Now, that isn't to say that if they fail to get the renovation they will move, but the future is definitely cloudy without it. If they do get it, we are at least assured the team stays in Miami through at least 2034. I think $400 million(mostly paid by Ross and the Dolphins) for major stadium upgrades and assurance that the team stays in Miami for at least the next two decades is well worth it.

This is a critical time for potentially deciding the long term future of the franchise in Miami. If Tannehill turns into the franchise quarterback we all hope he does, it will suck watching people in LA, not Miami, cheering him on.

if u favor the taxpayer money fine but its not a critical time for the dolphins. The team is in no danger of being moved and if taxpayers dont foot the bill the team will remain regardless. You really think Ross is going to take a huge loss to sell the team to an owner that wants to move it. Dont forget part of the value of the dolphins is u own the stadium so if he sells the team nobody is going to pay that extra and have no stadium.
I love how people act like our stadium is falling apart and so outdated. Yes it could use some upgrades but nothing about this stadium makes it non viable for a super bowl or an nfl stadium. This is the evergoing ponzi scheme of the nfl to blackmail cities into paying for upgrades to nfl owned facilities. Amazing how in 2010 it was up to snuff to host a superbowl but 3 years later somehow its not, thats showing you how much BS is always being spread. If Im a dolphin fan I could care less about Miami hosting a superbowl andyway and actually playing in one. I guarantee you Miami is far from even being discussed as far as relocating and if Ross didnt want the team there will be plenty of buyers to keep in Miami.

I really have nothing to add but the headline of this thread is do delicious it deserves to be bumped.

Actually, I will ramble for a while. This morning I bought tickets online to the Doral golf tournament in March. $21 apiece via a 2-for-1 special. I might do better later on but this seemed reasonable so I locked some in. During checkout on Ticketmaster a screen appeared. You couldn't get beyond it without making a choice. They wanted me to spend $7 per ticket to insure them, in case I can't make it. There was even a darkened box over the YES check box, with a notation that the insurance is "Recommended."

No kidding it's recommended. What a rake, an extra 33% in my case. That's another glorified scam, playing off of fear. Fear is huge these days and only expanding. I'm reminded of that Steve McQueen movie, "The Blob."

Granted, for elderly people and thousands invested in a cruise ticket, for example, the insurance might be worth it. I get that. But when a corporation sticks that insurance note on any ticket of any price it's simply playing off fear, and lack of understanding of probability. The default check was even in the YES box, meaning I had to switch it to avoid the $7 per ticket charge.

That weaves me to the Dolphin situation, and Mike Dee shamelessly playing the fear card. The media should rake him, and the organization. Every time there's a suggestion the Dolphins don't receive a fair shake in local media, we're reminded of how low the Dolphins themselves are willing to go. I hope the county commissioners are not the terrified gullible type, ones who estimate 20% or 50% chance when it's probably tighter to 1%, if that. And yes, I'm willing to gamble, if you want to call it that. It's like a casino worried about losing money on penny slots. The combination of events required to move a franchise with this history and name recognition and roots is not present and not logical. I would pay $7 insurance, however. :chuckle:

Don't get stuck in a stadium with no home field benefit for another 25-30 years. That's all I'm asking. My prediction of zero titles in that stadium for either the Dolphins or Canes doesn't need to be tested for that long. I'll probably be correct.
