Merged: The Dolphins Attended Players Workouts Thread

But, if only Ireland goes, then doesn't everyone know it's a smokescreen? So we send all the trifecta then it doesn't look like a smokescreen.

But then if everyone knows that we know that if we send the trifecta and Henne then we think people will think it's NOT a smokescreen, then people will think it IS a smokescreen anyway and we should have just sent Ireland.

Anyone else confused?

;)

thats freakn great.....

The whole smokescreen theories are always quite absurd and useless. I definately hope we can get Nicks.

How can you not like Hakeem Nicks? But I do think we pass on him if Buter or Davis is on the board. Parcells knows we need help badly at cornerback.

While I think Miami may draft a WR, I seriously doubt it will be in the 1st round. Nicks may have already fallen out of the first round due to poor performances and conditioning, so my take is that Parcells is just doing his due diligence. And yes, he has traveled to see other prospects, and I would hardly call it rare that he does some personal scouting.

He is projected to go in the first three rounds. I dont think he goes in the first or early second round. My guess he can go late in the 2nd or in the 3rd round.

NO WAY he goes in the 1st. The only tight ends that have a chance of sneaking in are Cook, Ingram, and Nelson. He has a shot at the 2nd, but I also feel that is pretty slim.

I agree with DUB, getting him at the top of the 4th with Oakland's pick would be ideal.

Add Richard Quinn to the list of TE Miami has had visits with. Miami so far has shown plenty of interest in the position having visit with Jared Cook, James Casey, Cornelius Ingram, Dan Gronkowski and Richard Quinn. I think we defitnetly add one via draft.

If they do, I wouldn't mind Herman Johnson.

Hells to the yeah!:hump::hump::hump::hump::hump:

That man is an ogre that would instantly upgrade our interior line. Our offseason program would be key for him to keep his weight under control but apparently he thrives in a structured and regimented environment according to the scouting reports I have read. He is definitely on my wish list for our later 2nd round pick or third rounder if he lasts that long. I would give my left leg to get him with the Raiders 4th rounder!

Look, I'm not saying they are not doing their due diligence, but last week they supposedly spent an hour talking to Maybin after his workout, they are supposedly interested in Percy I think they are turning over every rock because they have no idea who will be there at #25, and I think partially they let the stories they want to get out.
I would be disappointed if it was Nicks in round #1. He was a #2 in college until Tate got hurt, the last couple of games of the season (not the bowl game) he was held in check, the 11 on the wonderlic. He reminds me of Freddie Mitchell, who was a first round pick, around #25 if I am not mistaken.

I doubt the Fins take a receiver in the 1st round. They are going to look at a ton of players in case some may fall etc.. Some players they are probably looking at for later rounds. The player they pick will probably be someone nobody expected them to take as seems to happen every year.

I would rather have the Fins take Brian Robiskie in the 2nd/3rd round than Nicks. I think Robiskie is a better downfield receiver than Nicks is. Nicks is a nice possession receiver and a big target. Don't think I want him in the 1st round. Learning curve for receivers might be a couple of years--so I would rather get a receiver in the later rounds.

Anyway, since there are a lot of threads of "Dolphins attending X player's workout at Y school" threads sitting around, I've decided to merge all of them into one and stick it to the top.

Have fun gentlemen.

All the Draft Prospects Our Miami Dolphins have shown Interest In

I am creating this thread with the purpose of us knowing which Draft Prospects Miami could be drafting or signing as UDFA. All the prospects posted have had visits with Miami or are scheduled to visit. This should help us know what players Miami is thinking of drafting, what position they are looking at and which are the needs they think we have. I will provide Position, Weight, Height and School. I will be updating the Thread everytime a new prospect visits or Miami is spotted at a Pro Day with the prospect up until draft day. I am also trying to get a Sticky on this so we don't lose the Thread.

We can clearly see Miami has shown the most Interest at the CB, LB, WR,
OL and TE position. Interestingly Miami has not shown little interest in the DT position as of now, could be a smoke screen. They did speak alot with Ron Brace at the Combine and have met with Terrence Taylor.

Hope you guys like this Thread and hopefully we can see it on the Stickys.

Wow, I'm not sure where this stuff comes from, but there is lots of revisionist history going on with Nicks and Tate!!

First off, Nicks has been the #1 WR since his freshman year. He lead the team in receptions and yards each of his three season.

Tate did even play WR until Butch replaced Bunting. And in Tate's first yr playing WR, Nicks had 3x as many catches (74 vs 25) and 2x as many yards (958 vs 479).

And in this past season through the first 6 games (Tate got injured in the 6th game), Nicks again had 2x as many catches (33 vs 16) and more yards (553 vs 376).

Now, that doesn't consider the other skills that Tate possesses (returns and rushes), but don't get it twisted, Nicks was never the #2 WR at UNC.
