I saw a picture of Eddie"The Thief" Moore and it got me to thinking about your choices for the worst pick ever for the 'Phins. There will be many names thrown around so a brief comment as to why and where would help for you old schoolers out there!

Eddie is a great example as he's extorted millions from the organization to no avail. He should be arrested for grand larceny:fire: . I will also open the discussion to free agent pickups (ie. Reggie Howard) for those that aren't draftniks!!! Let her rip.................

My choice for runner-up is: Eddie Moore (has this guy touched the field yet?):shakeno:

With 1st place going to.................................. John Avery (Ole Miss):baghead: :baghead:

Who will be crowned as "Officially The Worst Draft Pick Ever"???

    Cashman, out!!!

He was at least a good return man, mine goes to Yatil Green.

i think you need to clarify 'worst'. i mean, is this based on playing time (John Avery) not seeing the field (Yatil, Moore) or who we could have taken in that spot (Fletcher)?

Jamar Fletcher. Even if he hadn't completely sucked, the pick was stupid because the Dolphins already had two Pro Bowl-caliber cornerbacks on the roster and they had other obvious needs to be filled. I've heard the argument made that Fletcher was well-suited to be a nickelback. Well, yeah, but you don't spend a first-round pick on a nickelback. Unless, of course, you are Dave Wannstedt.

jamar fletcher because a) we didn't need a CB at all, b) we needed a QB, and brees was picked a few spots later, and c) he sucked and was traded for a player that didn't do anything, and now neither player are on an NFL team.

Yatil Green hands down. Top 15 pick with 2 career catches! Wasn't his fault, but he was the biggest waste of pick. At least Sammie Smith and Jamar were on the field!!!:tantrum:

Fletcher, Moore, and AJ Feeley rank atop my worst draft picks of the last decade. Of those, I would probably rank Feeley the worst, if for no other reason than the fact that we had to give up another pick to get rid of him :fire:
Fletcher isn't far behind, though :boohoo:

probably Dan Marino cause we could've traded up and took Elway and won a couple Super Bowls.

Rick Graf, Andrew Greene, Dorian Brew, and all these guys are 1-3rd rounders. Funny that the year Yatil Green was drafted, we later got Sam Madison and Jason Taylor

Yatil got hurt so he has an excuse. There is no excuse for John Avery though.

Eddie f'n Moore. He can't stay healthy for a full season and I'm still pissed that we passed on Boldin and took him.

The pick of Yatil Green was fine, you can't predict a career ending injury. Jamar Fletcher, Jon Avery tied.

Let's not forget James Johnon in the second rounf of 99 because we did not have a first rounder. He sucked.

John Avery because we traded to the back of round one and we could have stayed there and took Randy Moss:wall:

There should be laws passed about what qualifies as a "bust". My view is a guy healthy with talent. This eliminates Yatil & Bosa who both had career ending knee injuries. Looking at the highest pick , biggest bust : Sammie Smith. Lots of talent & speed , no heart.

Fletcher, Milner , Avery , Shipp , Kumerow in no particular order.

at the time, I think the popular belief was that we were going to draft Tyrone Calico (who would've been a great pick. He just got Horse Collered by Rou Williams)

Ask some of the older fans about the saga of Kentucky Quarterback Rick Norton who was drafted by the Dolphins as the second coming of Joe Namath in the Dolphins 1st round of the Dolphins first AFL draft. Rick Norton has to be the all time biggest flop. Then there was Mike Kadish also a 1st round bust.

You are wrong there Hondo. Mike Kadish was traded to the Bills for Irv Goode in his sophomore season and went on to have a stellar career with them and win MVP honors.
