Miami Dolphin player cuts to 53

Sorry to see that Hewitt was waived, but I guess the injury was serious.

I thought he was quality depth.

I'm gonna bet that if we get an Alonso nickel injury that Timmons becomes the nickel carry cover backer and they insert one of the mike types hull or Rey.

Obvious hole in the roster

Probably hull cause he's been here the longest.

How long do we have to wait to IR Ted Larsen? Like can we do that this week or do we need to wait till after the first game? Cause we actually have a free roster spot for signing someone, though IDK if we really bother until after week 1 with the vet contract thing.

Also means that we have 10 rookies who made the roster (plus 2 on the injured reserve, McMillan and Ford)
- Chase Allen
- Isaac Asiata
- Davin Godchaux
- Matt Haack
- Charles Harris
- Torry McTyer
- Eric Smith
- Maurice Smith
- Vincent Taylor
- Cordrea Tankersley

What is also becoming increasingly clear is that Coach Gase and the leadership team of GM Chris Grier and EVP Mike Tannenbaum are investing in developing more youth and they don't care if they find it in the Draft or undrafted free agents.

You forgot Tankersley

When can we sign players? Sign Jenkins drop Reilly.. sign Greco drop someone else

KOPA Misi didn't play much last year
Tony Lippett (IR) -> Torry McTyer
Ted Larsen (half-season IR) -> Jesse Davis
Koa Misi (IR) -> Chase Allen
T.J. McDonald (suspended) -> Maurice Smith
i'm not saying our depth has been great, but you can see why we had some more UDFAs than usual.

koa Misi hasn't been a factor in 2 yrs. Allen would be better compared to Vigil or Hewitt and that's an upgrade.
Mctyer is more impressive than Lippett was his rookie yr from what I see.
TJ McDonald will play the last 8 games so your comparison is inaccurate. We also lost Jones for most of the year.
Safety play, barring injuries is better than last year.
The health of Howard and addition of Verner make the secondary significantly upgraded from last year.

So are both McMillan and Forde our draft picks this year still on the phins after being waived IR. Just a little confused on those 2 moves

Looks like jesse Davis made the roster. no surprise.

Honestly, the only guys with talent on that list, IMHO, are Julius Warmsley (injured), Matt Darr (competitive) and Praise Martin-Oguike (didn't show enough). Everyone else is either lacking physically or has the physical but lacking in football ability. Slightly surprised Sam Young didn't make the roster, but Eric Smith made him expendable. This is exactly what I expected.

Brendel, Smith and Allen. Not even that close. Reilly would be 4th with Johnson and Perry 5th and 6th.
I'd keep Brendel, Smith and Allen for sure, those 3 stood out to me. After that they're mostly on the outside looking in, IMHO, but I would put Perry 4th.
