Now that Starks is tagged I think we need to move Odrick to a 3-4 team

I'd still kick him inside with the Soliai and Starks contracts expiring. He was extremely ineffective on the end and think he's really out of position there.

Ireland stated one of his goals for this offseason was to improve the push up the middle. To me, this would seem to indicate that they'd look for a DE and move Odrick inside, not to the trade market. If anyone might be on the market, my money would be on Soliai.

Odrick is a solid rotation guy who will be difficult to trade at this point in time, not likely to get good value.

I though all along that if Starks was allowed to walk then we could easily kick Odrick inside to replace him. But now that starks has been tagged I think our best bet would be to see if we can find an interested team that runs a 3-4 and maybe we can get a 3rd-5th round pick for odrick. Then we can maybe sign a true 4-3 DE or draft one like dion jordan or something. What u guys think?

If we can get something quality in return than definitely. But I doubt we will.
We should just move him inside as a 4-3 DT. His natural position imho.
We will have an amazing 3 man rotation at DT with Soliai, Starks, and Odrick.

Plus with Starks being tagged, might as well see what Odrick can do there this year.
Imho Odrick has no business playing a 4-3 DE in the nfl, he's been real out of place.

We only have Starks for one year now, and Odrick has never been at his natural position for us, I think it's perfect timing to move him to DT this year and see how he does.
I think he's got some real potential.

Correct.
I think they will just leave him at 4-3 DE where he was last year and look to add a 3rd down pass rush specialist. He will probably kick inside on passing downs as well. Thats what I would do. Starks and Big Paul are both going to be FA next year as of now so keeping Odrick around is pretty important IMO.

i seriously doubt you'd get that kind of compensation for paul solia...more likely a single 3rd rounder...not even sure you'd get a 2...

doesn't offer enough pass rush and isn't thought of as on the vince wilfork level around the league...
No way would he come that cheap.

I like the idea of Odrick playing DE and then rotating to DT on 3rd down. Vernon could develop into our other pass rusher.

Pathetic isn't it? Long gone! Davis gone! Now trying to fin a nitch for the next first round pick and if we can't he wouldn't even generate a low third or high forth round pick!

So we need to trade the primary back up to the DTs because he doesn't offer enough pass rush on the outside? I'm seriously glad you're not our GM...

Is McDaniel a free agent because if so we definitely can't afford to trade odrick because he will be getting alot of the reps that McDaniel got last year on the inside.

Franchising Randy probably means Mcdaniel is gone unless he takes a veteran minimum.

He's only one a one year deal but at a very reasonable 5.7 million . . . Vontae had 2 years left on his deal at like 1.3 million per and we only got a 2nd. Trust me, Paul isn't fetching more than a 3rd, if that. Plus he's already been franchised before so I believe his franchise rate would be higher than the normal for DT's. I think a team that trades for him would probably want a long term deal worked out.

Makes no sense to trade Odrick. Both Solai and Starks are under one year deals. Im tired of drafting guys high and then trading for much lower picks. odrick gets u no more than a 3rd at best

IDK about that. His value is extremely high right now, especially as a nose in a 3/4 scheme. You could be right but it wouldn't surprise me at all to get better.

If the Fins really like Jared Odrick . . . he's another guy you resign early at a discount and hope to get the best out of him when either Randy or Paul (or both) part next season. His value continues to be the highest with the Fins because A. We used a first rounder on him and B. He gets paid peanuts ($700,000).
