NY Fans = Scum of the World

Well I went to the Jets/Dolphins game and it was the same stuff. I had to be sitting in the worst section(338). There were more bottles thrown then footballs that day. There were quite a few fights too and EVERY single time a dolphins fan was escorted out. Not a single jets fan was forced to leave. And to top it off I saw an eight year old boy crying his eyes out as he and his father are leaving(during the game). The father was muttering something about "a bunch of morons" ... to me that was pathetic. Fine throw a bottle at me, I am a grown man, but an eight year old boy with a dolphin jersey on... come on..
Oh Ive seen Jets fan leave. Ive been responsible for it a few times too. :D

I went through the bottle throwing experience in Giants stadium for wearing a phins jersey more then once. Ive had a security guard ask me to leave for "antagonizing fans by switching jerseys everytime a Dolphins player made a good play" then I told him to shut up and leave and so did the 20 people I was with and he had no choice since I was sitting down the whole time and the friends I was with. Part of going into a visiting stadium is dealing with the fact your going to get hasseled. It doesnt bother me anymore to be honest. I just wear a clear rain slicker over my jerseys so whatever beer is thrown doesnt ruin the jersey im wearing

THAT was in VERY bad taste.:yell: :fire:

it wasn't nice, but it was a hypothetical comeback to the Giants fans.

Insensitivity begets insensitivity.

if that would have been me, I'd have fired right back about how NYC can't build tough buildings. I mean one little jet, and down she goes!

They would have left crying!
LOL cause that wouldnt have been too hypocritical. Youre criticizing and doing the exact same thing.

I lived in northern Jersey for 12 years, ... And the people of Jersey/NY were at least 2-3 times more obnoxious at sporting venues that I went too.

Dude... North Jersey and South Jersey are two different worlds... ;)

Well, at least you just proved that massive lost of life as a joke brings out the idiots from any sports team.

I know like 50 people from NJ, they'd give ya the shirt of their backs. Great people.

No... it only serves to make you just as bad as the idiots who did what they did in the Meadowlands.

Most New Yorkers would be ashamed at that hapening....

Guys... any city the size of NY is giong to have idiots. There is no need to insult the entire population of NYC. I go there VERY often, I assure you...they are not all bad. Some very good friends of mine are lifelong NYC denizens... my GF is from Brooklyn.
Honestly... how would any of you like it if I took a couple bad examples from your town/city/village ... and passed that judgement on you?

agreed. i have family in long island totally different people. im sure their not all bad, but the ones that said that to saint fans need their _ _ _es handed to them, or anyone for that matter. no matter what state town you live in!:fire:

You guys are crazy if you think this is isolated to New York, your stereotyping is equally unintelligent... fact of the matter is, there are people like this everywhere. It's not right, it's ashame it happened, but don't act like this is a New York thing. I've been to countless stadiums around the US for numerous sporting events, it's the same everywhere and there will always be some appalling people out there.

I thiink you are also a little misguided. I've been to football stadiums in 6 different cities, and only 2 (Giants and Eagles) have I been afraid or paranoid about getting my butt kicked.

In Seattle: when Marino made a great comeback and won in the last 2 minutes (about 11-12 years ago) I was standing up and cheering my *** off. One guy threw some popcorn at the back of my head. When Miami won, I taunted him and the Seahawks fans around me had no problem with it, because he was rude. I had great conversations with all of them around me.

In Cincinnati: Dolphins were down (28-0?) and came back and won (35-31?), great game. I cheered my *** off in the upper deck and besides a couple of dirty looks and some popcorn - no threats.

In Indianapolis: same thing. Except we lost 42-0. people were very nice around us. So don't give me that crap that fans are the same everywhere, it's totally ignorant and untrue. A handful of cities (NY, Philly, DC, Oakland..) have bad fans, while most cities are cool.

This game should have been at a third party stadium. Just like2 years ago when san diego was on fire. We played the game in arizona and they gave away tickets for free. Tagliabue dropped the ball on this one.

Pathetic....absoloutly pathetic.

I couldent agree more. No way could that be a home game.

I said IF THAT WAS ME FROM NEW ORLEANS, if a NYer can say something that cold and vicious, and they were the ones looking for all the sympathy after 9/11, than they deserve whatever cold treat I can drum up. I have donated to both disasters relief funds. But the fact that a NYer can say anything that cold about New Orleans makes me wonder if I can get my money back from the 9/11 fund.

yes, I know what you mean. I went to see the jets play the Dolphins two yeas ago in New York and you are not making that up. I saw the exact same type of crappy stuff taking place.

I also had season tickets to the Dolphins games for 3 years while I lived in Florida and never saw fights or people getting kicked out, or throwing of objects. It really is pathetic how New Yorkers in general act.

yes, they are, I lived in South Jersey for a few years too. Unless you get to Cherry Hills, and are too close to Philly.

First of all, how do you know they are New Yorkers? Because they are Giants fans? Please, more than half of the Giant fan base is from NJ.

Secondly, stooping to a new low doens't make your point, it just makes you look just as bad. Try the high road.

Yes out of 8 million people we have some jerks. Surprise surprise.
