    Omar Kelly Tweets:

RT @MiamiNative0722: you think John Jerry will be moved to tackle?» I'm pretty sure he will. He doesn't fit what they want at OG.

John Jerry has allowed 2 sacks, 3 quarterback hits and 14 hurries this season. His pass blocking has been solid.

John Jerry has the 10th worst run blocking grade (-6.9) of every NFL OG, which means if he has a future in Miami it will be as an OT.

Dolphins starting RG John Jerry checks in as the NFL's 52nd best RG, and has a -2.4 overall metric.

Thoughts? If he is moved to right tackle then we need 2 OG's

We finally look to be over the hump with a former disappointment/almost throw-away whom our sharp, tough-lovin' OL coach, Jim Turner, apparently worked wonders with.... now seemingly have a dependable young guard going forward who understands how to play the position,

..and Omar wants the fins should move him instead of just securing a professional RT? Sheesh

Might be a better spot for him. RG is probably the least important spot on the line, and they could probably find someone to fill it relatively well and cheaply. Perhaps a guy like Josh Semuda might be ready for a full-time role.

I'd like to see them make a play for Patriot free agent rt/lt Sebastian Vollmer
He is 6'8 and 320 lbs and very athletic. This year as a starter his salary was $980 k
as a starter was almost half of what we paid Murtha.

Depending what he wants it just might be a good upgrade for the 28 year old

He should be paying tackle anyways he payed better there last year then the guy they drafted this year to play RT, but then again Jerry is getting better at playing OG he's getting more push now than he ever has as far as run blocking and he's always been above avenge as a pass blocker.

Why the **** would they move him to the edge? Stupid. Push him to a reserve and utility role.

FA OG's are much easier to find than FA OT's

Nate Garner is a UFA this year

Omar Kelly is a pretty good barometer. Do the exact opposite of what he suggests and you will be right the majority of the time.

John Jerry has been fine this year. If he's going to be a tackle next year then he has to get serious about his conditioning. He can get away with showing up out of shape as a guard, but that ish isn't gonna cut it at tackle

If we go into next season with Dmitri Patterson and Richard Marshall as our starting corners, Ireland should be fitted for a straight jacket.

Depends what you want for your offensive line. Are you looking to build a championship line or a servicable one? Jerry is servicable and that might be okay if Miami can get some elite type playmakers on offense. I think if the team doesn't sign Long, which looks like a huge possibility, than we will see the team draft an OT very high in April.

I would like to see that actually. I recall a couple of games last year when he filled in for Jake Long at LT and played very well. Remember, he played RT at Old Miss.

I have an issue with both guys. Patterson is a starter after one game? How can they presume that Marshall can be the starter next year? I do not mind if they hoard corners, but Smith should needs to be brought back and a corner in the first two rounds are necs.

Forget resigning Jake. He is 5 years in and has injured his knee, back, shoulder, triceps and ego. He will command pretty big money and isn't worth the injury risk.

Omar suggesting Jerry to tackle is odd. The guy does not appear to be athletic enough to play on the edge. Likely would be burnt all day on outside speed rushes. The technique required for the position are likely too much at this point.

I definitely say we resign Sean Smith as I still like his game and his length and skill set. Sure we would like to see more production, but I still see him as an ascending player.

I thought he played his best as a tackle. Not that it'll matter either way if he shows up to camp at 360 lbs again....if the man can drop some weight hes actually a very physically gifted player and can move pretty well.

Get in shape then we'll see what he is. Can't afford another Vernon Carey who slides by based on ability but never cared enough to maximize his chances.

Jerry is athletic but he loses balance more than he should. That will be more of an issue outside.

At least some of these big guys have come around. Soliai looked like just another guy and Jerry seemed to be out the door. Maybe Shawn Murphy will surprise.

In Philly, Patterson was burried on the depth chart by Asante Samuel and Nnamdi Asomugha - both of which were considered top CBs in the NFL. In Cleveland, he had problems staying healthy, and with the contract they gave him and a new GM coming in, he was let go. I dont think Philly or Cleveland should be used as benchmarks for his physical ability. I'm not saying this guy is a great player, but to say he was let go in Philly and Cleveland because he's a bad player is not correct.
