According to over the cap, it's only a $4M savings. but afer June 1, $17M.
can someone explain?

Reason why is cause you can't cut top paid guy to get in on Free Agency. If you do. You'll save 4M, But by waiting after Free Agency you'll save 17M. If you notice. There's always good vets getting cut at that time to sign rookies.

after June 1 the cap hit is spread across two years instead of all on the current one.

So in other words we're not actually saving anything by cutting him then, we're just pushing some of the dead money back a year.

Yep, I could totally see Tannenbum doing this.

We might just have replacements in the house but are year away from being ready. Plus with no savings against the cap you keep your playmakers.

you save $17.5M if you cut Suh after June 1.
Trust the process

We cut either one is bad .
If we cut both we could be in serious rebuild mode, especially if we don't resign Landry

the advantage is doing after June 1. We could essentially get their replacements via the draft and FA. Cutting them would be a formality. Now cutting them before FA is dumb, because less savings and and the factor of unknown
