Randy McMichael arrested

sure I have made mistakes but hitting a woman pregnant at that is not on my list. :shakeno:
How do you know he hit her? He claims he didnt....and at first she was reluctant to say he did. Let the police do their investigation. If it turns out that the evidence supports her claims then I will be the first one in line to burn Randy at the stake. But, if it turns out he was telling the truth and all he did was grab her arm and push her away because she was out of control, then I have a tough time condemning him for that.

:shakeno: You talk as if you know the entire story already, that's exactly what Muck was saying. People (especially East opponents) are eager to spin this into a "Moulds" proportioned case. If it turns out that way.... so be it, but until then you've got nothing.

Well one things for sure it sucks to be him. Makes you wonder why he would have put himself in this situation to start with.

The position to have his eyes clawed out by a psycho wife? All we know right now is that she flipped out because he was out partying....THAT BASTARD!! (a note of sarcasm  ). I guarantee you that if a women is slapping the crap outta me im not gonna just stand there. You wouldn't have a choice but to push her away in self defense....common sense. I'm not saying lay her out, just enough to get her off ya.

I don't think anyone knows what really happened. I'd hold off before i pass judgement. Some women can be pretty fragile. I've been with my girlfriend for 3 years...I've only been in one fight with her (2 yrs ago) and yes i was drunk. I did not touch her though. But i can put bruises on her without even being in a fight. I put a bruise on her arm the other night and we weren't fighting.

Apparantly it was Randy who called 911. I'd love to hear that tape. Help!!!, I'm a huge powerful, tight end for the Miami Dolphins and my wife is beating me up. His call SHOULD have been to Stuart Weinstien, head of security for the Dolphins. The whole thing would have been contained and handled in house. No arrest, no publicity no police.

Well they played the 911 tape on the Channel 7 news and it was actually Randy who called the police on his wife. All he kept saying to the operator over and over was that he wanted to get his 7 year old daughter out of there and he himself wanted a police escort out of the house. In the background it sounded like his wife yelling and screaming. That's why it best to hold judgement because no one knows what happened.

Amen.

It was posted earlier that on the 911 tape Randy just wanted to get her daughter out and get himself a police escort out of the house. Now that to me sounds alot like someone in a rational state of mind, he is not just thinking about himself he is thinking about the child in the house. As a father of two I have been threw the mood swings of a pregnant woman twice, and let me tell you my sweet little innocent wife got fairly pi$$ed(never violent but she is one of the calmest people I have ever met) So to all the crusifiers lets wait a little while until it all comes out if he hit her I hope he goes to jail reguardless of what or who he is, BUT if he didnt hit her then my respect for the man will increase.

I hate that whole macho 'a man should never hit a woman' bull crap. The underlying assumption behind it is that women are inferior objects to be placed on pedastals and treated differently from men. That line of thinking gives a lot of room to say that women aren't allowed to do this or that because after all, they are women.

If a woman is hitting you, fighting you, defend yourself. There is no reason not to, because a woman can hit you in all the right spots just like a man could. And while generally women are not as strong as men, it is not always the case.

Laila Ali comes at me swinging, heck I'm bringing a baseball bat to that fight.

The bottom line is from the sound of it, there is no way McMichael gets convicted. The woman's 'official' story changed twice already from first saying he didn't hit her then to saying that he held her arm and struck her several times in the head, then denying that he struck her in the head because "she didn't want to get her husband in trouble" B.S. Randy McMichael is the one that called the police to say she had been beating on him and there seems to be no denying that she at the very least did hit him. If I'm a state attourney I drop this one as soon as I'm sure the couple are ok with each other. She makes a very bad witness especially when its generally accepted in the courtroom that she hit him first...you can't prove he wasn't just defending himself with her as a witness because she already changed her story twice.

This is an unfortunate incident and I am afraid we'll never know the whole truth about what happened, and the only reason I fear that is because of the sheer number of people and fans that are so willing to convict Randy based simply on allegations rather than evidence and convictions.

good point brother. my wife was a complete basket case and i was the punching bag during the pregnancy. I think RM did exactly what should have been done. RM could come out smelling like roses and be an inspiration to other players who could face similar circumstances.

Ummmmm, no! sorry, you are way off here. The cops are the best witnesses you could have in this case. everything is out in the open which is best fro everyone involved. RM is brilliant! even drunk he handled himself well! :roflmao:

Take a bow CK.... that was excellent!

Since I am not about to read through 249+ posts, I'll just add my two cents in on the end and hope that I'm not repeating what anyone said....

Although I do not ever condone striking a woman unless she is literally trying to murder you and you fear for your life, the plain and simple truth here is that Randy should not have been arrested. Both sides agree (stated in the report) that Mrs. McMichael was the one who struck first therefore becoming the "primary aggressor." Those of you that are police officers should recognize that term. A person has the right to defend themselves and in this case Randy was defending himself.

That being said, he does come across as a punk for calling the police on his wife who happens to be 6 months pregnant....and also as a dumb a$$ for calling them in the first place....

Mark this down....this case will go absolutely nowhere.

Well that last point was right, this case will go nowhere. But, the police were obligated to bring McMichael in for a few reasons. One is, she was pregnant, and that makes hitting her a 2nd degree felony, and if a cop has a probable cause to believe a 2nd degree felony has taken place (and her accusations as well as her bruises are plenty of reason) then I believe he HAS to take Randy in. You may say this is not fair, but that assumes that the laws are fair in terms of getting arrested and how easy it is to get arrested and what a simple arrest can do to your record even if the charges are dropped. The law is not fair in this regard.
