Schefter: Tannehill may not be the answer for Dolphins

As far as im concerned, at that time, Mark Sanchize was set up to take the next level. He had top tier defense with top 10 running game and good not great receivers. Mark tanked on his own will even when he was set up to succeed.

You have first and second year and a playoff primed Jets team and Mark regressed.

Ryans numbers for as bad as our offense is set to meet/surpass mark's 2nd season and your team was playoff ready. My point is Miami is no where near a playoff team and yours was and Mark couldn't grow. Analyst see Tannehill working with the best he can and giving them career highs this season. Thats hope that he can be better with better talent. Mark had the luxary of a great run game and great defense. Tannehill does not and plays slightly better.

That means what?

It means that FinJim's love affair with Trent Dilfer is horse crap and completely convenient. If you were to have thrown that comment by Dilfer about Sanchez in his face back when it was originally made, FinJim would be blast Dilfer.

he had similar productiion around him as far as D and run game in 2010.

Our top 2 backs averaged 4.16 YPC in '10, yours average 4.13(add in Miller ansd that average goes up to 4.2). Your D allows 19.07 PPG, ours allowed 18.6 so simialr. we had more weapons in the pass game but the production around the QB was similar.

trent dilfer thinks every qb is the best thing since sliced bread. and schefter is just a reporter. You can't fully judge tannehill until at least next year. When the offense isn't highly limited due to the lack of talent on the outside and the ineptitude of the oline to create any push in the run game.

I think Tannehill should have sat on the bench and learned...

He's not performing as well as Luck, Griffin or Wilson, regardless of supporting cast. That's a simple fact.

That's the Fact Jack. Foles Too. Cousins even stepped in and Won a Game. Cant keep making excuses...
Blew two Games this Year we should have Won. That would give us 7 wins, and put us in the thick of things, but it is much easier to say we have no
playmakers and "we all knew" we were going to be bad this year. Is that what the Colts were saying this past offseason?

dog deeper, don't allow some week 17 garbage time #s and Brad Smith reverses to skew the #s. We had a similar un game and simlar D production as far as points allowed- we went 11-5, you are on your way to MAYBE 7-9.

come on now...nick foles now is also playing better than tannehill???...i watched the monday nighter against the panthers foles threw into coverage 5 different times at least and got away with them all...decision making wise it's not close

I think Tannehill should have sat on the bench and learned...

Why would you want him to sit on the bench to learn when he can learn more faster by starting?

You don't draft him #8 overall to be the backup.

And I can't take you seriously if you think that in any shape or form regardless of Rookie or not, Tanny is having anything other than a bad season. He's performing like you would have expected him to coming out of college, the odd highlight reel (too few and far between) interspersed by some good and a lot of bad.

Gabbert was plain awful on an awful team last year, Tanny has been a bit better but not by an awful lot.

The rookie salary cap makes cutting ties with a missed first rounder more feasible, you kind of argued that against yourself. But like I said they have to believe that Tanny is not gonna reach his potential for it to make any sense and if they do the sooner they do it the better. I'm not convinced any within the organization has given up on him. Personally I never believed in him to begin with, I was willing to give him a chance though, and totally on the fence as to whether he's our future or not.

having a bad season...well if you think that after watching him for 12 games then don't take me seriously...i'd rather you not

this is a taking his lumps learning season and he'll be a better qb down the road because of it...give it two years and we'll see how bad the qb is...gonna have to anyways cause the staff is 100 percent behind ryan tannehill...he's getting the next 2 years at least and he deserves it off of his play this year...in 2 years i'll listen to all this he misses throws he doesn't score tds stuff...

give it 2 years...we'll be fine...that kid can play at a high level in this league...all we're doing right now is speeding up the time before the returns start kicking in on a consistent basis...

Sorry man the numbers don't lie here and it justifies alot. Ryan has been pretty bad, but his supporting cast is worse. The key areas are scoring where as the 2010 Jets put u close to 370 and the current phins are about 270. The 2010 team has better talent than the current phins roster.

Ok not for nothing I keep hearing how the other guys do not have talent around them either which is utter crap. Luck has Wayne, Griffen has Garcon, and Wilson has one of the better running teams and Sidney Rice. Miami is still a middle of the pack team talent wise. Fasano's catch while great does nothing to overshadow the fact of how offensively overrated he is. No pure #1 receiver stepping up and an inconsistent running game. I just hate these analysis comments as though Miami is on the same playing field talent wise. Defensively oh yeah I think they are beyond the teams mentioned. Offensively I think they are still far behind.

Middle of the pack? what team has less talent than we do?

I think you're using the phrase "A Ton" way too loosely, missing one or two open receivers in a game only SEEMS like a ton because they don't get open that much. For a team with true playmakers, one or two missed open receivers would not be categorized as a ton.

How about

Marshawn Lynch: 1,266 yards and 9TD Compared to Reggie Bush: 622 yards 6TD
Sidney Rice 7TD
Ben Tate 7TD

Compared to D. Bess - 1TD
Hartline: 1TD

Bottom line is - Give us Atlanta's group of receivers and TE and we're easily 9-4 do you not agree?
Sidney rice has played more than 12 games in his career 4 times. He had 4 td's in 07 and 08 where he played 13 games in each of those seasons. In 2009 With brett favre he played 16 games and had 8 tds. Hes played 13 games so far this year and has 7 tds. Golden tate in 2010 had No TD's, last year he had 3 in 16 games and has 7 this year with 12 games played. You know what that tells me? Wilson is making the players around him better. While tannehill, well, the TD #s speak for themselves
