Sign Leonard Fournette

Nagys offense is outflank. Smoke and mirrors etc. at least it has been under trubisky.

that’s not a great fit for Howard’s game which is a massive tell and fits cohens game like a glove. I agree on your Montgomery take

It was easy to see it wasn't a scheme fit either. I still think Howard lost some of his burst too or else Nagy would have had an easier time integrating him.

According to Bleacher Report, there are multiple teams doing research on Fournette, before the waiver deadline at 4pm today. Could mean the likelihood is he'll be claimed?

You could get Fournette for half of what Drake is making and 1.3M less than Gurley, I’d take that. Obviously the problem becomes what your paying Howard + Fournette. That combined number might not be worth carrying even if your getting a deal on Leonard.

We will be ok either way. I believe the plan was to likely draft a young back next year (and probably again in 2022) until you find the right (cheap) combination for the future.

Do you try and capitalize on a QBs rookie contract in the next 3 years? Do you play it safe and keep drafting rounds 3-5 types? Do you just invest in the OL continuously and throw anyone behind them believing blocking has more to do with an effective run game than the actual runner?

Dolphins will be fine regardless. This regime thinks things through.

4 Million is not a lot of money for a RB of his caliber. And the Fins have the Cap space to fit him in.

And you are not on the hook for anything beyond that.

Bring him in and see how it goes.

The issue would be that his attitude issues seemed to stem from the team losing too much and him not handling it very well.

Miami may not be a playoff contender but they should be pretty competitive on a week to week basis.

Leonard Fournette RB, Unsigned Free Agent

AP's Mark Long reports the Jaguars players were "tired of Leonard Fournette."

Everyone seemed to be over the Fournette experience in Jacksonville, including the front office and coaching staff. The NFL agreed with that assessment as well with the Jaguars unable to get "anything" after shopping him for the entire offseason. Fournette only was productive because of volume, not talent. He was one of the worst pass-catchers in the NFL last season and oddly couldn't convert short-yardage work into goal-line touchdowns either. Fournette will get another chance to turn things around -- maybe he just needed a change of scenery -- but tape, efficiency, and even more news reports suggest that he'll likely sign for less than $4 million annually, assuming he goes unclaimed on waivers. His path to touches will be tied to whichever team signs him. Expect reports of who that will be to come out today and tomorrow.

So it does seem to be all about attitude and personality. It is 10 minutes till four Eastern time so I think the waiver deadline is 4 PM. Seems like we might have some team interviews and workouts coming up this week for him. Or can you even do that with Covid?

One of the worst pass catchers with 76 on the year?
