I don't think too far. I really don't think that NBA teams value 2nd round picks all that much.
Thanks, that's about what I thought.

Uhh, guys?
You all do know that this thread is to stay rockin' until October, correct or incorrect?
The Draft is coming up, how do you guys feel about that?
I will regard making a long post until the crickets stop in this dead beat thread. I don't wonna post for nothing, but where's the Championship spirit? I know you guys are done with the Heat just because we didn't win it again. Come on............
BTW....
Is Acie Law what we want in the draft? Will we be that lucky to have him drop?
You mention Derrick Byars, and he's a kid that I like a lot out of Vandy. Personally, I just don't see he and/or Rudy Fernandez available. Jared Dudly is not a player I'd consider at #20 at all. As for Nick Young, I do not think he's a bad defender at all. He's got some nice size and I think he can really develop his defensive game if he puts in the work, which obviously, if Riles feels comfortable with the kid, he's going to be willing. He's a guy who can really open up that mid-range game and play fundamental basketball. A few scouts compare him to Josh Howard, and I think they're dead on. Rodney Stuckey is another story.. he's strong for his size, and a great attacker. I think he has the potential to be at least a decent defender, and he is a guy who can really create by getting to the basket.
With 20/39, I am seriously wondering how far we can move up. Obviously, that won't crack the top 10 as this is the NBA Draft and not the NFL Draft. However, if Acie Law is sitting there at 12-13 ahead of LAC & Detroit, one has to wonder if we can move up. He'd be worth it, no doubt. I'm not sure he slips to #20. Like you said, Conley is going to have to slip, maybe all the way to #11, and someone is going to have to fall in love with Crittenton's potential. Word is, Detroit is extremely interested, though.
IMO, 30% chance Acie Law drops, 60% chance Javaris Crittenton drops.
We now have pick #39 from Orlando. Zabian Dowdell/Taurean Green = good targets there.
My top 5 prospects for #20 overall........
1. PG Acie Law, Texas A&M:

2. PG Javaris Crittenton, Georgia Tech:

3. SG/SF Nick Young, USC:

4. PG/SG Rodney Stuckey, Eastern Washington:

5. SG Marco Belinelli, Italy:

But here's my guy, who unless Law/J-Critt are there, I wouldn't mind reaching for:
PG Zabian Dowdell, Virginia Tech:

^2007 Daniel Gibson, IMO.
There is a very strong rumor that Crittenton will not be there past 11. The Hawks have there eye on him even tho its a reach
IMO, 15-18 PPG and 5-6 APG type of player in this league. Very unselfish, but more of a scorer than a passer at this rate. That's one of the reasons he'd be a perfect fit next to Wade in the backcourt. Law doesn't need the ball in his hands to make an impact offensively.I am convinced that he will be a 10 and 7 PG next season...and eventually a 15 and 8 guy which makes him a borderline all-star.
Atlanta's guy is Mike Conley. If they pass on him at #3 (which I think they will) and he's gone by #11 (which I think he will), then they're going to look into Acie Law. Crittenton over Law would be a huge mistake for Atlanta, but great if you're a Heat fan.
IMO, when Miami picks at #20, Crittenton and Stuckey will be the best PG options. Then again, Dumars has a man love for Crittenton, so don't count out Detroit at #15. That is why BPA will be a high option as well, as Dowdell is a guy who could slip to #39.
I don't care what anyone says, if Nick Young somehow slips and Acie Law doesn't, he better be our pick at #20. Can't pass on that kid unless Law slips. His mid-range game is incredibly similar to Luol Deng's. That's a lack for us.
