Good fights tonite on HBO. Cintron's knockout was brutal. The other guy was out before he hit the ground.
Gatti was clearly washed up, I am just glad that this will be the last beating he will take as he announced his retirement after the fight.
The Paul Williams vs Antonio Margarito fight was the best fight of the night. Williams dominated the early rounds, throwing over 100 punches per round. Margarito started to mount a comeback, but Williams won the 12 round to clinch the victory by unanimous decision. Williams said that he wanted to fight Cotto or Mayweather, but I doubt that either would be interested in fighting Williams at this point. I'd like to see Williams fight Cintron.
I did not see the Roy Jones fight tonite, but he won by unanimous decision over Anthony Hanshaw.

What makes Paul Williams so dangerous is his height and range (6-2ish). Guys like Cotto and Mayweather are around 5-8. Being that Paul is in this 147lb weight class is pretty scary.

Nobody's sure what to expect Saturday when Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins takes on Ronald "Winky" Wright at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino (HBO Pay-Per-View, 9 p.m. ET, $49.95) in defense of the Ring magazine light heavyweight title.

They're "Coming To Fight," or so says the slogan for the scheduled 12-round bout. But part of the intrigue is that Hopkins and Wright both built their lofty reputations by excelling as counter-punching tacticians.

i hope the fight is good but i don't know. winky does press the action but he just can't punch. hopkins hasn't been in an exciting fight since trinidad. i'll watch it but i'm not that excited about it. it's going 12 and it will probably be very close and the loser will be crying about the judges. both of these guys are sore losers.
 
I am betting on a boring fight won by Winky in a close decision. I will watch the fight, but I don't see it being very exciting as thats not the way Hopkins likes to fight.

ike quartey is coming back to 147. welterweight is loaded right now.
 
Winky has the advantage of having a trainer that has been with him since his amateur days. Hopkins is training for the first time with the Roach...
 
The first fight of the night was by far rthe best.....
