How? Wannstedt hand-picked Collier for the job in January, even talking him out of leaving for a job with Mike Shula at Alabama. He knew Collier's personality -- passionate, emotional, hard on himself. Collier's father, Joe, himself a former NFL coordinator, once remarked about his son, "All I told him was to remember you'll have your ups and downs calling plays. You can't let your emotions get into it. You can't get frustrated. You just have to go on to the next play. If you let your emotions into it, you'll make a mistake."
