WVDolphan's Get Real. Today's subject "The Ginn Family"

Wv!

I can't believe it...but I absolutely agree with you!

Great post, keep this up.

Wait a second. According to your sig I thought I was one of the "best posters" on this forum? Seems like a sudden change of heart doesn't it?

I am better! It is only logical I am list FIRST! Congrats you're second though! You know what they say about second place? You are the FIRST LOSER! ;-)

Here's the thing. Ginn's 2009 season was a debacle, to be sure. Throughout the 2007-2008 seasons however, Ginn was coming along, showing flashes, and making plays before it all blew up in his face last year. Couldnt catch a cold. Prior to that, here and at OSU, he was known for being sure-handed. I'm not suggesting he would ever have become a #1, but alongside a #1 he couldve been a playmaker for us.

he doesnt do **** for the 49ers receiving game and he still isnt a "playmaker"....you need to actually make plays in order to be considered a playmaker...Ted Ginn is nothing but a decoy.

Dumbest post of the year. He stepped out of bounds at the EAGLE's 41 and 46, I would take that any day of the week. Also, D. Jackson ran for the sidelines on his punt return and I didn't hear anyone question his toughness. These smaller receivers have to protect their bodies. They don't do anyone any good on IR. Ginn was one of a few bright spots for the Niners last night- you just can't admit when you're wrong.

:rolleyes2:

I still hate Ginn. He had a decent night returning, big deal. Still nothing as a WR.

We were lucky to get a 5th for him.

LOL do you really think i think your a good poster? With the onslaught you launched against me, I could never.

flryan is getting better but i just put that because you guys are the most ridiculous. That tyler guy falls into that category too.

Boom, i was one of the 3... ive got 5 pages of red rep from x-poc in my profile settings to prove it... "Ginn sucks." in every single one.

I do admit, WV, many of this kids now are mad because we don't have that speed here anymore. They are coming out saying WTF but yet they were that same crowd that called for his head. "We'd be better off releasing him"

I knew we were too stupid to find someone to replace him as a return man and that kind of speed is hard to replace as well. Like i said, maybe he gets open on a deep route once per game with marshall drawing the safety attention. Maybe he gets us to the 50 on a return after a team just scores on us. The only reason the 49ers were in the game late was because ginn was getting them ridiculous field position. I said the whole time he was here if we could find someone to replace him, i'd have no problem getting rid of him. The problem was we didn't.

boom i was one of the 3... not so proud tho.

Most ridiculous? They preach the truth and many can't handle that. Most would rather stick their head in the sand and act like nothing's wrong.

I do recall me making a bold prediction about Parcells when he announced leaving. I have been right step by step, I called him leaking info and talking crap to his media friends, I called him bashing the Dolphins to save face, and I called him looking to fleece another fan base! Not my fault people want to ignore the truth!

As far as Ginn he is still a pansy! But he is better then anyone we have returning kicks! Not to mention I would rather see him being used as a deep decoy then our current 51 million dollar decoy!

This may be the shortest edition of Get Real ever.

Ok. All of you guys have to stop whining about how we traded Ted Ginn Jr. for a 5th round pick. Not because Parcells dosent blow, but because 90% of you who are now complaining about it HATED Ted Ginn Jr. and were ready to trade him for a bag of doritos. GET REAL!

And while its true we could use his speed, return skills, and his presence as a receiver to stretch the field a bit, we shouldve replaced those assets of his with a different player or two at the position. You know.......a guy that could actually catch the ball as well to go along with those things.

We have absolutely no depth at the WR position. Thats why we kept 2 undrafted FA's at WR.

I was all for trading Ginn as well. Which is why I have yet to complain about his absence. However, I for some reason, felt after trading him that we might actually draft a playmaker or two, especially when you know that trading him leaves you void of a return man.

But, NO. Of course we had to draft MORE CORNFED LINEMEN! This is what makes trading Ginn a blunder.

Trading him was a fine move, unless you werent going to replace him. Thats why I thought for sure we were drafting McCluster when we traded down. I guess that made too much sense though. There were a handfull of guys I wanted to draft at the WR or RB/return specialist position though. I thought for sure we would get at least one.

So yea, nothing wrong with trading Ginn. He blows.......REMEMBER. But, trading him and not replacing his assets was a really stupid move.

Anyways, stop talking about Ginn and how youre pissed that we traded him. You arent. There were about 3 people total on this board that liked Ginn as a player while he was here. So GET REAL!!!

Well-said WV! We had best hope nothing happens to Marshall this season; otherwise we'll be looking at a WR core no better than the Vikings had with Rice hurt and Harvin sidelined off and on. Watching Anthony Armstrong up in Washington makes me wonder why he ever got released. His skills would have perfectly replaced the 'deep presence' that Ginn represented for us the last few seasons. Sure Armstrong isn't a returner (at least not that I'm aware of) but I have to think he's a better WR right now than both of the undrafted rookies we kept on the active roster.

Either way, you're right, it's time to let go of Ginn. I saw him make a few good returns for SF lately, which he had done here, and then disappear for practically the rest of the game (which was also an M.O. of his lol). We got a 5th rounder for him, transaction over. I rooted for Ginn while he was here (as I want EVERY Dolphin to succeed and help the team), but now that he's gone there is nothing left to say about Teddy and his family. All history Dolphans.
